Title: Problem with Viper MKVIIe skin and poor fps
Post by: DahBlount on June 26, 2013, 10:11:16 am
When I use the MKVIIe or look at it in the Tech Database, It's cockpit will be completely white. There is a picture included with this post. Is this just a general problem or is there something I need to download?

Next whenever I play and look at any ship that isn't a fighter or bomber my fps goes from the 30s down to around 8 or 9. Here is my computers system info.

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3337U CPU @ 1.80GHz

RAM: 6.00GB (5.87 Usable)

OS: Windows 8 x64

GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 (<-- Integrated so is probably part of the problem)

Most likely. Lemmie see this evening if I can reproduce it on my laptop though, I don't seem to remember transparency breaking like that on derptelgrated.

Here is a log I made in debug. Let me just say, a LOT of "Turret not found" appears in it.

The intelgrated graphics are almost certainly the cause of your performance issues - try turning down the in-game detail settings (a lot). Also take a look in the Launcher, Advanced Settings, see if you can disable normal and env maps.

As for the transparency thing, try updating your graphics drivers (actually, does that even apply for Intel? :nervous: )

One thing to try would be to use the -no_glsl commandline switch ("Disable GLSL shaders" in the launcher's troubleshooting section). Intel hardware is notoriously unreliable with those.

Intel has it's own custom drivers that self update if you turn on the option (mine currently self upgrade and i can't upgrade manually any further so drivers aren't a problem).

I will check that out.
