Where did you find that much clay for bricks?

Just explore, a few 1000 kilometres out. Kyad found a lot too. Leave the known world, that's harvested dry and strip-mined empty after all those years.

I found an unexplored cavern rich with iron only ~40 meters below town. I do not understand how it avoided being found after all this time.

Expect it to be up in an hour or two. Testing everything first.

Funny thinking about what the server used to be like. I think it was just back in March when the default spawn was in a little hole in the valley that I couldn't dig myself out of because the lag kept preventing me from removing blocks. The server was pretty much a rudimentry version of the valley bridge complex we have now, IIRC. It'd be neat to see some screenshots from around that time of the servers history, as I didn't play too much due to lag.

I think that Shade's first rail line between his house and spawn is what really lead to the growth of the server, there was an infrastructure already in place for people to start building from.

Oh dear god! BTX class motherboard! It buuurns!

Also, if I am reading your BIOS pic right you don't have dual channel, which is a shame since it would seriously increace your IO (as in x2). A 2nd 2gb stick for dual channel might have been a better alternative then a 4gb in single.

Back on the Minecraft topic: I dug out my cobble collection area to the point that it now supports a 120-yeild (30ish 4-tall trees) underground tree farm. No more having to kill the -now not so- natural plants!

On that note, I just found a vicious bug the hard way: when you use water to uproot rails that are on a slope, they don't drop rail items. Lost 20 powered and 56 regular rails just now. :(

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

No and dual channel wont work properly either, as the sticks are different, one is a 2 gig, the other is a 4 gig.
