Having a lot of MODs is nice maybe, but doesn't a server become dependable on running those mods from there on? I tend to always worry that if there's objects on the server which only a mod can create (like airships, solid cloud blocks, sulfar ore etc) and the mod stops updating because say the creator stops making mods, that the server is stuck with running an old MineCraft forever? Because if the server is updated the discontinued mod is incompatible and if you remove the discontinued mod the server is stuck with data (airships, etc) it no longer understands without the mod, so it crashes and cannot run? Or does a server if it has mod data it cannot read, simply remove those blocks and objects?
