O hai Wooter! nice to have you around!
-
Having looked around for some general info on the status of this mod (and what's actually been released so far), I'm left with no answers. I DL'd and played the original INF R1. However, that's all I've found--I don't even know if INFA (or INFASA) or anything else 'Inferno' has actually been released. And what's the deal with the TSJ Icanus--its description implies that there is some kind of continuation to R1 that's already released, but I couldn't find anything on it.
Considering the last solid update I can find for this mod is a year ago, could you give some kind of simple, general answer as to what's going on/what the plan is? At least for the sake of making it easier to find for those that don't already know?

Inferno is alive and doing well.
-
What Battuta said. We have something big going on right now and might announce something soon.
Watch this space.

You big tease you.
-
Announcing announcements? mhm.
-
Been there, done that ? :p
-
Probably January for that, it's a bit of bad news but mostly good news. Just got a few things to clear up first.
-
Last time we heard the phrase 'bit of bad news', ASW and WoD2 got canned.
Surely it isn't that, right?
-
Nope, that would be worse than 'bad' news IMO.
-
is there any news
-
Soon.
Got some more details to work out before the announcement.
-
You know the announced thing is going to be BIG when even the announcement requires planning.
-
Well you can probably guess part of the announcement :p

You're finally releasing that upgrade of INFR1?
-
Announcement should be this weekend, just having the staff look over it for fine tuning. It's a very large post.

The suspense is almost palpable. :D

Just in case people are getting a bit too excited, it is a release announcement, but not the actual release. You've still got a bit of a wait, we're included some details, an entire ship list and 14 new screenshots which is why it's taking so long :)
No trailer this time, but hopefully I'll manage to do another before the release date, but we're going to be very busy over the upcoming months.
I'll answer a few questions in the announcement thread once the announcement is made.

hows going now
-
I'm sure they are going okay. Let them go along quietly. They will tell us when they are finished.
-
this never finished in ages
-
Asking us "are we there yet?" won't get us there faster.
R
-
How about "Are the fires lit yet" then? :P
-
Just on a side note I'd really like to know where the English "How's going?" comes from. It seems to be appearantly misunderstood as "cool" and "casual" in Japan.
"How's it going?" always seemed normal to me. On the other hand, people who say "How's going?" generally weren't worth talking to...
-
I don't think woulter is using an expression to achieve an effect moreso that he is not a native English speaker.

You have to get used to it. It is a big mod, and they need time to finish. Any big thing takes time to finish. You know that.
-
besides, summer ain't over! :D

I sincerely meant that as a teacher I am trying to figure out why exactly non-natives make that mistake. Someone somewhere left out an "it" and it's been replicating unchecked for years...
-

We will definitely not finish by this summer, but we are still making good progress.

I think that in whatever his native language is, they dont use the "it" word in that sentence, but only say something like "how is going?". Then he just translates that word by word.
-
:doubt:
Apparently you're an expert in Dutch.

Before Thanksgiving then? :D

Dutch resembles English enough that we do use the "it". It's really just wouter's English.

This is true. On any kind of trip.
But, when said trip is 6-7 years the question makes more sense. Since all the other questions yield the same kind, "you asked us, why yes we still post here in this part of hlp" answer.
"Are we there yet?" is the same as "how much longer will it take us to get there". After 6-7 years, it's an alright question to ask. In this case, i wouldn't interpret it as the person asking trying to get you there faster at all; it's a question about progress left to be made.
As far as anyone else is concerned, i dub and retitle the remake of infr1 INFERNO FOREVER
