Good stuff, but good luck with the textures - you're gonna die of the toughness to match it to the .ani.

Front is very nice indeed, but the rear side needs more details.

Quite a lot of polygons for the detail in there. You should think about optimizing.

Other than that, it's still very basic (try rounding off those shapes) - but it's a good start. Also, get rid of the 90° angles of the in-set area on the engine pods.

Ehh...what's with the bit chopped out of the front? I would have thought that was slightly raised, not recessed...

Add the gunports and missile tubes, too.

Personally, and this is just me, I would prefer that the model not have a pilot added until the modeller is satisfied with the model.  My reasoning is thus:  If the cockpit model is 300 polies and the limit the modeler has in mind is 1000 polies total for the model and he/she puts the pilot in before they finish modeling the details, then they are robbing themselves of 300 polies that could be added elsewhere for additional detail.

it isn't making good use of all those polys. it looks a little bit smoother than the volition model, but has many more polygons.

Missile banks don't really need to be modelled, they're small, they're black holes, they... don't really need to be modelled on the erynies. Save polys for something else.

Much better, I like the orange tinted glass too, but I don't think that will translate to FS2(more's the pity)

Don't go to too much trouble on the missile banks.

Hmm...what is it with high-poly models and people thinking "recessed"? I mean, kicking it out a bit works too...and is more noticible in most cases...once it's textured...

Well, those areas on the sides are most likely recessed, i've extruded out a few parts cince the last shot. The problem with the erynies is that there isn't a whole lot of paneling in the texture, so theres not alot to do in terms of modeling panels.

It's easier to bevel a single panel inward, than to bump all of the surrounding panels outward.

it's easier to run a cube through a model (which adds 6 polies)
then bevel two sides of a model (which adds 10 polies)

as long as you don't boolean it.

Carl your a genius! why didnt i think of that before!

I've been making all these weird cuts in the model just to extrude the shape i wanted when i only needed to put a chube intersecting the model in!

It's easier to cut the shape in max with editing poly and move the new poly out, coz you don't lose any UV in the process, and even the extruded polys are UV'ed nicely, and if you don't go overboard, they're not even stretched. Ah! :p
