so i just downloaded freespace 2 with its retail 3 cd version, and patched it to 1.2

where do i go on from here? i downloaded the individual things (models, effects, etc), but i have no where to put them because i'm not sure how i should start up this "FS2 OPen" thing because my freespace 2 is a retail version. thanks and can't wait to play the game.
