Either way your opinion's not going to make any difference so late in development. :P

I think there's being a kind of miscomunication here. Just because Warzone, Derelict and Twilight are inter-connected, doesn't mean they are part of canon... In fact, All of those campaigns try at the best of their abilities to stay true to V's FS cannon.

By the line of thought I'm seeing, then any campaign that has more than 1 "episode" is elitist (just think of Inf and InfA, for example). Which is of course a ridiculous thought as far as I'm concerned.
Yeah, I know you were waiting for a very nice sig, in which I was quoting some very famous scientist or philosopher... guess what?!? I wont indulge you...

Why, you ask? What, do I look like a Shivan to you?!?

I've already said that in a previous post.

Explain this to the Wikipedia contributors who banned Snail and led me to think that S:AH was made by :v:.

You don't get the point. INFA, INFA1, INFR1, INF SCP and so on are part of the same mod, even the name points them out as part of the INF continuity. Warzone, BWO, Twilight and Derelict don't give that impression.

Warzone, BWO, Twilight and Derelict are all part of "Cold Element".
I guess you could stick that in front of the names if you want :P

Then let people know they're part of CE?

Geez, I see the subject from an external point of view. Reply as if you'd be replying to a newly arrived player and not to me. :)

Well, they're all made by Cold Element I suppose. Collectively I call them the Cold Element Series.

:welcome:

Welcome to the HLPBB!

Cold Element is one of the oldest campaign making teams around. Dark was among them. Some really OLD PEOPLE were around too. They made some old classic campaigns like Derelict, Warzone, Twilight, Aftermath, and an unreleased campaign, BWO. Since they were all made by (chiefly) the same people the team decided to make them the same continuity and all link together.

Thanks for the info, Snail.

EDIT: Seriously, is Cold Element Wiki'd enough to solve our problems? If not I volunteer to help.  :)

Go ahead. CE is horribly under documented for some reason.

Re: Things you want to know about BWO but were afraid to ask
All we need is a main CE page with links to Twilight, Warzone, BWO and Derelict...right?

EDIT: There already is one, according to which Aftermath is also a CE product.

Looks like I can't modify any Wiki pages anymore, whenever I click on Modifica a DL window appears. It makes me DL that index.php thing  :wtf:

Re: Things you want to know about BWO but were afraid to ask
Playing Warzone, Derelict, etc. are not necessary to understand or enjoy BWO if that is the concern. Characters and events from these campaigns are mentioned, but it's more of a 'throwing a bone to those in the know' than anything else.

The GTVI projects in Twilight for instance come to fruition in some of the secret BWO missions, but you don't have to play Twilight to know what's going on.

...and to reiterate:

THERE ARE NO SHIVANS IN BWO
...and there are no American tanks in Iraq!

Re: Things you want to know about BWO but were afraid to ask
Mobius, I'm getting the idea you are seeing things the other way around. You seem to be worried about people mistaking thewse campaigns for V canon, which is wrong of course.

However none of the creators and staff ever stated anything like that. So given that I don't see a reason for anyone to be banned for mistaking them with V canon. We never said we are V canon, so people thinking otherwise are drawing their own  wrong conclusions based on assumptions.

Exactly.  Just because outsiders are ignorant/stupid and can't tell fan-created material from the game's storyline shouldn't affect mod-makers in the least.

Pfft, I think it's up to the modders to do what they want. No one stopped the creation of SGWP2, right? ;)

Re: Things you want to know about BWO but were afraid to ask
Mobius' command of English is good and 'elitism' is a real word. He used it correctly.

Furthermore, I think that was a bit of an overreaction, High Max. I don't think Mobius needs to tear anyone down in order to feel good about Inferno.

Let's all just get along and talk about BWO some more. The issue's already been resolved. Mobius, please ignore High Max.

I agree that it'd be great to figure out more of what happened regarding Morgan Technologies.

Re: Things you want to know about BWO but were afraid to ask
Err, I was actually suggesting to make certain changes to the Wikipedia and improve Cold Element related pages on the FreeSpace Wiki. I can't do either things due to a strange problem that prevents me from modifying pages... :wtf:
