It has a blue Meson cannon, don't know if it's LR.

The Golgotha is armed with a Meson Beam weapon (its blue )....its range is quite a bit more than the average beam weapon.  It easily outranges the Sathanas...although the range isn't completely ridiculous.  If a Golgotha went head to head with a Sathanas it would loose....but in a more tactical duel coming in at the Sathanas' sides or rear aspects its possible for it to win.

Versus a conventional destroyer like a Ravana its possible for the Golgotha to defeat the Ravana without breaking a sweat or taking damage.  Unlike the Colossus its not meant to be a one-of design.

I seem to remember a screenshot with TWO Golgothas in the mission at the same time...

Because they're being mass produced. Also, I recall it being said that it was meant for multiple Golgothas to wait near a node and fight a Sathanas simultaneously (tactically).

That'd be ideal.  They each have allot of individual power but collectively they are best suited to taking down such a powerful ship class.

The Golgotha is a prototype...it has bugs.  Obviously the intention is to solve them

Speaking of beams, will Mjolnirs be featured throughout the campaign? It irks me that the GTVA's most powerful sentry gun seems to be quite prone to overloads...

It was blue even in that trailer...just with a white center.  We've changed the effect a half dozen times since then anyways.

The problem with Mjollnirs is that there is a fine balance between them blowing the snot out of every ship that jumps into their path and being destroyed by enemy fighters.  The balancing for making the player an important part of the mission is hard.  Volition did the right thing and got it right...but its not an easy thing to do.
