It's an (arguably) improved model. The arms are closer together, and it's textured differently.

Uhh, different maps same model. It looks a lot better than the original, but still the same base model. It's also a lot faster and less heavily armored than the R1 Abel. Sorta like a Shivan super-Fenris (deadly fast but easy to kill).
In other words its harder to hit the LRed ?
This is FS1-era, there are no LReds. Only Railguns. And other things. Which rock.

I didn't like the INFR1 Abel, for whatever reason.

It was upber low-poly, and the skin sucked.
I still like its design better than the Raguel, though. No bowl.

That's interesting. I was thinking that the Abel looked like the worst of the lot, even worse than the Amritaya's rear.

I hated all the ships with bowls, the Raguel, the Damini, the Iblis, and the Diablo.
I liked the ones that didn't (Scylla, Abel, Kismat). Actually, I'm using those three in my Shivan campaign, which was why I was looking for the better Abel skins.

Though there's a random frigate called the "SFg Andhaka", but I have absolutely no idea what it looks like. It may be an upgraded version of the Damini, but somehow I doubt it. Probably a new model.

There are some very old ships in INF SCP, such as the Oberon. The Cabari was also pretty damn old (it used the SOC Galatea model) but I've been told it's out, thankfully.

We would, but we might re-include them if we can't find a good replacement, so no.
Also, we sometimes give our models we don't need anymore (but aren't that good) to other projects. Like the Sagittarius model in TVWP is actually our Leneaus (GTVA Terran light carrier) model.

I dunno... I think they'd work. But it'd be pretty annoying bringing all the new EA maps and the default turret maps and stuff too I think. But other than that I think they work.

hey, once INFA2 comes out, how easy would it be to port the EA models to INFR1, are they the same (IE have same gunpoints and stuff, so the only difference would be the look)?
The Lindos won't work and some ships may have sub-objects renamed which may break turret firing sexps used in R1.

Its a symmetrical now, and the hangar is at the back between the engines, but it'ls still a flying H with spikes sticking out. Some of the corners are rounded.
I liked it better assymetrical, though.

The old EAD Tereus was supposed to be based off the Orion. Does it look more like its predecessor now?

No, it uses the same base model.
But the Auriga, the EA carrier, is basically a symmetrical Orion with 2 fighterbays, based of Bobbaou's HTL Orion.

I think that one "vertical wing" section of the Lindos (without the middle part of Lindos, but with additional weapon pylon - which would make it looks like giant cross, not like giant H) would be a nice "strike frigate" for EA, something like Lindos for poor :D

I mean to cut the damn thing to half (from up to down not from left to right), remove what was once a middle section of Lindos, add a side pylons and you have TWO cross like frigates.

Did you guys release an EAF Nyx? I see a link to it on the wikipage but I've never heard or seen anything about it. I thought the Nyx was MT myself, which isn't released at all.

The Nyx is an Aldo fighter. You can find it in one of his modeldumps. It's slightly different form our one though.

All the new Vasudan and Shivan ships, the Alcaeus, Latona, a whole load of HTL'd ships, and one or two other utility/transport ships.

I dislike that fighter because the gunpoints are too far apart, but it's got gun convergence so it's a bit easier to aim.

i dislike it be because after seeing more screens i think its ugly as heck (no offense, i just don't like how it's a fattened Apollo. a new version would be stremlined IMO)

The Latona is intended as an Apollo Mark II. The name Latona isn't casual. I don't like its gunpoints, they give problems in close combat, but the shape is very nice for an upgrade of the Apollo.

Not to derail but what exactly is entailed in INF:SCP? From another thread it sounds like you don't have any modellers, so I presume the models are all going to stay the same? Perhaps with just some shinemaps and other fancies? Though I thought I read Aldo saying you were going to redo all his models.

As far as I know the problem is that many models were fine for the standards of a few years ago and might look pretty poor right now. There have been recent and nice changes to some combat spacecraft but I'm afraid warships remained the same.

Ok, one more question . . . so does INFA or whatever, INF:SCP even add new shivan ships too? Not including the ones we see in INF:R1. I'm just working on the wikipedia some more and in terms of user-made ships the Shivans get shafted even harder than the Vasudans. yowsa.

Snail is right. As you may have noticed I've been away for two and a half months so the release of INFASA has been delayed. There's much more than three INFR1 Shivan ships with better textures in INFASA in terms of quality and quantity...

Massive amounts of paranoia hardly counts as a good reason. He needs to learn some criticism. Like, don't open emails advertising Viagra or offering money. Don't download (and especially run) files ending with .exe, unless you know what you're doing. If you think that something you downloaded could have a virus, scan it with a (working and trustworthy) anti-virus software. Run spyware checks every now and then.
Saying "no" to all Internet is not the solution.

My mother recently used a computer of mine and now I think it's bust (runs ten times slower than it used to before she started using it: I understand this may indicate I have spyware on my computer). But I hardly ever use that computer (even though I bought it) so I'm not really too concerned.

That thingy has nothing to do with Inferno I'm afraid. That's from the old Omega Team mod the Phoenix Project, which died yonks ago. All resources have now been diverted to Earth Defense.

Well, TBH, I find that thing an ugly piece of ****, which is why we're not using it. I mean, it's just... Loads of spikes... Nothing more.
