I knew this would happen. Funcom's been blowing money on one MMORPG after another and just had to shut down their Beijing location, so it seemed inevitable that Tornquist would end up resorting to kickstarter to fund Dreamfall's sequel. The new character art is kinda weird but I imagine they'll improve on that come the finished product. All I know is that there's never been a videogame writer and story that meant as much to me as Ragnar Tornquist and The Longest Journey games have. There's never been a character in any story I've ever read, played, or watched that I cared about more than April Ryan. There are stories you love, and then there are stories that become so personally important to you that it becomes existentially vital that you know what happens next. This is one of those stories.
You promised us you would see it through to the end. Thanks Ragnar.

Heyyy this guy ISN'T that creepy David Cage guy!
-
What?! Where did that come from?
-
I had Dreamfall and Fahrenheit conflated, apparently.
-
Pledged. Although I've yet to play Dreamfall. Might have to wait until the next GOG sale. Let's hope the dev team learns from the things people didn't like about it.
-
Tornquist admitted in this interview that the combat sucked, so I'd say he's aware.

Played both TLJ games, loved them. Can't wait to for the sequel. :)

They've raised over a million dollars, with two weeks to go! Goal was $850k.
-
Crowdfunding wins again. First Star Citizen and now this, I hope more quality games would follow this route.

Their goal is not 850k dollars - it's 2 million :p : http://www.gamespot.com/features/taking-the-longest-journey-home-6404653/?tag=Topslot%3bTakingTheLongestJourneyHome%3bTakingTheLongestJourne

What I'd really want (stretchgoal?) was for these projects to fkin kick ass, win a lot of cash when sold as a gesture of a big FU to all the publishers that have, for ages now, been the gatekeepers preventing middle-class amazing games to reach us.
