Title: Send me your resume
Post by: Inquisitor on April 13, 2002, 08:55:56 am
Or something ;)

Anyway, the FSF thread seems to be getting long, and there are people who are playing in the thread who may not want to actually be counted as participants.

So, if you want to be "in this thing" send an email to [email protected], I'll tally em up, and hand over the list to whoever ends up being in charge.

What would be helpful in this email:
Your name
Your resume (even if there's nothing techncal on it, if nothing aelse a list of projects in the community you have worked on if any. Even a being grocery bagger tells a project lead something, probably means you can take crap from people with a smile, for example ;)).
Your portfolio or link to it
What you want to do on a project like FSF (I'll keep project leads in a seperate pile, we'll figure that out later).

Anything else you have in mind.

Someone needs to go thru the FSF thread and grab all the design elements and list of decisions that needs made. IF this doesn't get done, I suppose I can do it, but that would not bode well for this project in terms of interest :) So, and PLEASE someone else think about being a volunteer.

Where's my coffee...

Well I have to put together a resumé for college "internship" submissions anyway, so I'll just send over a copy to you when I am finished. ;) Do you just want stuff relating to this project or any accomplishments? (i.e. knowledge of multi-var calculus and PDEs probably won't be very useful here :p)

PM's will make me do extra work, it can wait till you get your email ;)

A portfolio is your "book of representative work" usually art, sometimes code examples, depends.

Think of Sounds of Thunder, I'd call that an art portfolio for our man, T ;)

We tried that with Cold Legacy but if you rely on people and they pull out for personal reasons or being lazy or whatever then your in trouble because you have a work load that has to be shifted elsewhere and other people might not be able to help.

Keep 'em coming.

Remember, don't make me guess where your work is, gimme links if you have them.

Send it, whether your artist, story, programmer, manager.

Also remember, I'm not in charge, just taking the initiative to collect 'em all in one place.

No offense, but, please, SEND me your resume, don't make me go hunting around for it.

Trying to guesstimate serious interest, so, take the time out and write an email, if you don;t have a resume, it's good practice to write one up ;)

And I got one email that says "I hope you know who I am" and while I MAY, links are always nice :)

Pretend it's the first deliverable ;)

I smile alot, can't you tell?

k, resumes seem to have stopped, I count 14 various folks with a wide range of skills. Not counting Kazan. Lemme collate them all, post what I think we "need."

Oddly, no project manager types, and really only one programmer type. Lots of art, which fro mthe audience, I suppose is to be expected.

Thread stuck.

And I think a lot of people (myself included) are aprehensive of joining the project at it's start since nothing of substance is there yet. I'm confidant that a lot of people will be eager to help out in some small way once a basic engine or whatever is complete.

Too bad. Kent's a decent school, if they can drop the whole  "May 4th" thing.

Ok, back on topic.

Left, and returned with my own idea of a good time.

By the way, I also have gotten a few mildly prestigious awards for things that have nothing to do with 3D rendering while I was out, and I wanna know if we're converting FS models or making completely new ones before I decide...

I've got some new models (500 polys to over an estimated 2 million on one), and I'd very much like to use them here, but they're... different than the standard FreeSpace types. In that they look like anything but fighter planes and flying boats.
