Title: Freespace Universe worldbuilding
Post by: Darni on March 14, 2022, 01:58:43 pm
Hi! I'm exploring running a tabletop RPG in the freespace universe, and I was looking for lore/worldbuilding information. I'm quite familiar in the content of the games (including mods like Silent Threat: Reborn and blue planet) and looked into the wiki, but the canon doesn't provide much more that whatever's directly involved in the life of a GTA pilot. Are there any good resources (even if non-canon) that have fleshed out other details of the universe? Locations, people, lifestyle, economy, etc... Doesn't need to be any particular period (I don't mind if it's during the 14 year war, or after Capella)

Thanks!

I might be biased because I'm a dev for it, but the mod BtA (between the ashes) has a ton of worldbuilding for stuff like civilian life and system economies.

A good clean alliance loving pilot spends his day polishing his 'bunts stabbing knife'.

I'm not familiar with Between the Ashes, I'll have to take a look. Is there any worldbuilding material outside what can be found in mission briefings/dialog?

It has too new rooms in the mainhall, a system map and a newsroom, along with all the stuff in the techroom.

This (https://porphyrion.feralhosting.com/datacorder/fsmods_files/fsrefbible.zip) may help. It's the Freespace Reference Bible from way back when.
