I'm just wondering if any one here is a Java coder, or knows of any with experience with MIDP Java 2.0. I've been putting together a small cellphone game similar to the game Escape Velocity, where players can fight space battles or trade items and we're looking for some one to help out with the programming.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in helping out in an interesting new game, please send an E-Mail to: [email protected]

If you need to see some concept screens, here are some:

Edit- People with experience with coding for or related to the coding of MS OS based PDA applications are also welcome.

look in the main forum, Aldo_14 is working as a java coder IIRC, he is asking for testers in a thread in HLP general.
just another newbie without any modding, FREDding or real programming experience

kasperl: I already messaged Aldo, unfortunately he didn't have the time for any more projects.

So that's why I've made a general post here, to see if there's anyone else on HLP who might be able to help out.

Maeglamor: Yes, EV is a very fun and addictive game, much like Diablo in many ways, and that's why something like that (with improvements, different features, etc. as it's not meant to be a clone) for mobile gaming I think is a good idea.

The game looks good and I really wish I could help out but I'm also far too busy. :(

I'll send you a message if I ever get the free time (don't see it happening for a couple of months though).

Grug: I've PMed you.

It looks like 8 Bit Productions in the UK, a company I've been talking with about working on the coding and releasing the game has declared that it was too ambitious of a project since it's not the standard "10 levels 10,000 points" design. :)

Of course, the whole point of this project is to have something that breaks away from this, something closer to a PC game.

Would there not be an issue regarding how the game state was stored (i.e. in terms of space), though?
