Matteo:
@herkie423 I just want to thank you for creating this campaign. It was really fun, surprisingly long, and in some ways just a better campaign than the original FS2 campaign (with a really weird ending in FS2).

I'm just curious: is it possible to keep Aquitaine survive in the final mission? I only had one attempt at this mission, there was no debriefing, so I wasn't sure if I did pass this mission perfectly. :)

Thank you again and God bless you. I don't know why you put so much effort into this, but I enjoyed it so much; it was amazing.

As someone who worked with Herkie a lot, I can answer this question for you:
Spoiler: The Aquitaine is meant to be destroyed in the final main mission of AFR.  It was sent with a skeleton crew on a suicide mission to distract the Shivan flagship (Grond) while the GTVA's Archangel came in and delivered the killing blow to Grond.  While Aquitaine is meant to die in the mission, it is possible to save the corvette that escorts it.

Also, just in case you were wondering, Admiral Petrarch was not on board the Aquitaine for this mission.  He was willing to go down with his ship, but GTVA Command refused to let him (they wanted a major hero of the Second and Third Shivan Wars to survive).  Petrarch survived AFR and died of natural causes at some point between AFR and AFR2 (TBG).
I hope you give the sequel, AFR2 (aka The Blue Guardian) a try as well.

Thank you for your support.

Matteo:
Thank you very much. :) And yes, I tried AFR2. :)

It is my sad duty to inform everyone that Herkie passed away recently. I just found out my self from Facebook and have had it confirmed by his brother. His mother passed away recently too and they are treating it as a suicide. %uD83E%uDD7A%uD83D%uDE25
