Crash with Inferno Builds
After getting past several missions (Including that terror, Forced Entry) I finally noticed I wasn't using an Inferno Build, so I quit, selected an Inferno Build from the launcher, and placed the Pilot file I was using in the Inferno directory. However, as soon as I clicked on said pilot file, the game completely locked up, forcing me to kill it with the windows task manager. It's rather frustrating, as I would dislike having to go through all the missions again on a new file. Is there any way to avoid this? Or perhaps someone has a pilot file laying around that's near this place in the campaign?

For reference, my fs2_open.log, generated with the inferno build.

Re: Crash with Inferno Builds
I am quite amazed you managed to get that far without using an Inferno build.
And what you did probably resulted in pilot file corruption, so you're probably going to have to either use Ctrl-Shift-S in the Techroom to play the missions there, or restart the campaign.
Or, you could extract the campaign file from the vp, edit it, place it in blueplanet\data\missions, and use that.

Re: Crash with Inferno Builds
Yeah, unfortunately, you can't use a regular pilot file under Inferno. There's a reason the installation instructions all yell about Inferno Builds.  :p

Easy solution, however: just go to the techroom, press ctrl-shift-S, and play the missions in sequence that way, starting from wherever you left off. When you're done, view the credits.

Re: Crash with Inferno Builds
Thanks to both of you, I took your advice and now it's working perfectly. I'll make sure to remember to use the inferno build from now on  :P

Thanks! I just finished the campaign about an hour ago, and I am in awe. The story and atmosphere were amazing. And the ending completely caught me off guard. Not to mention the detail in the models and backgrounds.

The first time you notice something is wrong (or at least the first time I did) was in the nebula, when you see a Ulysses instead of a Vishnan fighter. Of course you only know something is wrong if you know you are supposed to see an alien fighter rather than a Ulysses.
And the sentence "And the ending completely caught me off guard." shows that Ave didn't spoil his gaming experiance by reading all the spoilers in the forum.

And welcome to HLP and Blue Planet!
