Title: Beams: Damage Potential per Second
Post by: SF-Junky on September 14, 2008, 05:11:58 am
How exactly are Damage Potential per Second and Sustained Damage Potential per Second in the weapons comparison table calculated? I know that you have to take the damage value given in the weapons.tbl for six times or so, but I just don't get it how to get those two.

Damage potential per second = 5.5 x damage
Damage per pulse = damage potential per second x firing time
Sustained damage potential per second =  (damage per pulse) / (firing time + firewait)

Sustained damage / second is the same as damage / second for other weapons.

Firing time doesn't factor into the fire wait.  Believe me, I've tested this.  Everything else is right though.

Hmm... k need to edit the data then. I wasn't  100% sure about this as ai beams generally fail to hit anything consistently. IIRC i finally chose to include it to match the values with the Zylonbanes beam FAQ.
