darn.  I'm gonna have to miss this one then (band camp just ended  :D and i need some SLEEP).  Whatever.  I might try and join for a little while, if i can.

Ok, guys, I've just updated to version 1.6.130, so be sure to use this version too.  I'll be using panics level 10, which I hope all of you have.  If not then I can switch to a typical counterstrike level.
Edit:  Ok, the game is up.  Is it visible?

Karx, it's still kinda' unstable and it's possible for the reactor to blow and neither client to receive the warning, or have the exit open, or have the mine blow.

Hmm, I'm trying to rehost, but it gives the error "a network error has occured.  please check your hardware settings".  Can someone else try hosting?  If not then I'll try again at midnight EST.

That was...interesting. :D I have no idea why that wildfire problem was only coming up in level 10. I think we played that Hydrolysis level back in March; it looks familiar. See you again in a few minutes.

Ok, Hydrolysis Plant is now up. :)  You can get it here:  http://www.descent2.de/index.html  then on the sidebar go to "levels" > "level spotlight" > "hydrolysis plant"

I couldn't see whatsisname at around 2:00 EST, even though he was there. Then I couldn't rejoin when I tried restarting, that's why I left early.

D2X-XL abruptly closed down a few minutes ago and I can't see the game anymore, so I guess they must have gotten dropped too. I need to get some sleep in any case. We can try again tomorrow night if the rest of you are available.

That's no problem. :)  We we're going to be calling it a night anyways, since it's getting very late here. 
We'll talk and hopefully play again tonight (Sunday night), so I'll post here again if/when we start it up.

Anyways, that was one of the most fun series of game's I've played in a LOOONG time.  Definitely no shortage of hilarity. :D

Haha no prob, Mars.  Perfect timing actually to end the game. ;)  Man, though, I have to agree... that was the most fun I've had in a LONG time.  And not just Descent, since that was the first time I ever got to play netplay Descent, but any game.  So satisfying to have Mac networking work in D2X-XL, finally.

How many ppl have been participating in the match?

I will have to participate in some matches to be able to locate potential remaining bugs.

Btw, why don't you play some of the MP missions on my D2 site? I have invested a lot of time to find the best of the best. Give Speed! a shot - I'd like to know how it plays with some more players. I you have any propositions for levels to add to my spotlight, send them to karx11erx at hotmail dot com together with a brief note.

I just tested out that map and it looks like it should be fun to try tonight. Thanks for the recommendation. It's actually been a long time since we have gotten a game going with more than two players at once, so we were mostly just sticking to things we know work well.

Are the versions backward-compatible for multiplayer, by the way? I was using 1.6.99 last night as I haven't been able to get the latest ones to work without that instant crash problem. It generally worked okay except for that crazy rapid fire bug in one level.

That was kind of weird, as was the mysterious "I can't see player X" bug I was getting, again.

I'll start up another game, probably around 10pm like last time, so hope to see you all then.  I'll post when it's up.

Karx11erx:  We actually played some of the spotlight levels, notably "aquarium 2", "shakers castle", and "areneon".  Of those, only areneon had any problems (D2X-XL crashes instantly if I select it as a mission, so I'll see if I can get a debug report later), but the other two worked beautifully.  I especially loved the "shark-pyro" and special weapon effects in aquarium 2. :yes:
