Title: Release - Four Updated campaigns
Post by: Macfie on March 01, 2015, 08:42:39 pm
I recently completed revamping four campaigns to work with the MediaVPs_2014 and fs2_open_3_7_2_RC5.
2 campaigns are Ghost Revenants and League of Free Worlds.  These are located on sector game
http://sectorgame.com/fsfiles/?dir=uploads/Projects%20-%20Campaigns%20-%20TCs/Campaigns/SCP%20Campaigns

2 other campaigns use the FSPort.  These are All Hands to War (AHTW) and Ryleh also located on sector game.

Edit: I just realized I posted the FSPort Campaigns with the file names I use on my computer.  If you use the standard FSPort File names, you will need to change the mod.ini to:
secondarylist = fsport-mediavps_2014,fsport,mediavps_2014;

Nice! I assumed League of Free Worlds was lost when we couldn't fix the zip file.

I can't thank you enough! Keeping older mods alive in this era of "mediavps -compatibility mess" is very important.  :pimp:

I have been especially intererested in the "Ghost Revenants", but have been unable to play it so far. Extra thanks for fixing it!

If you take requests, I would like to point out that "Crossing the Styx" is also in a sorry state, so there's that.

I'm working on Revenge right now but I'll put crossing the Styx on my list.

I know you've got other stuff to do first, but could I make a request to add something to your list?

Sure no problem.  I'm not getting much done right at the moment.  I'm helping my wife with the high school musical production.

Yes, I'd like to say a big thank you too. The work done here will especially benefit someone like me, who came along later on and didn't see these when they were released.

There's a good chance I'll try all four of these. FSPort is my favoured gameplay so those two are likely, LoFW I will try just out of curiosity, and Ghost Revenants I don't know what it's about, but since it's got your interest and is the only one left I'll probably check it out as well.

If I'm reading your list right, here are the next projects for the FSCRP team based on requests:

1-Revenge
2-Crossing The Styx
3-Allied Forces

Am I reading things right?  Would you like me to get you a link to Allied Forces?

Yes that's correct.  I have Allied forces and Allied worlds.

I ran into a problem on the Ryleh campaign.

I completed all objectives on the second mission "Hounds Of Tindalos" (Ryleh2.fs2) but when I clicked next mission on the debriefing screen it said the mission was a failure and I couldn't proceed.  Even the debriefing text said nothing about failing any objectives.

Something I noticed, after I completed the mission and hit F4 before I landed on the station the first primary objective 'await reinforcements' never turned green (even after the allied cruiser reached its waypoint).  Could that have something to do with it?

Did you get the land on the station message?
The goal does not go true until some events occur and it does not go true Immediately.
I played through the mission and the goal went true after I got the return to Ryleh station message.

I did get the "Land" statement in the directives list.  However, after pressing F4, the first primary objective still didn't go green.

I even used time compression for a while and the goal still didn't go green on the F4 list.

Try this mission.  If it works I'll do an upgrade.

It worked, I was able to complete mission 2 successfully now.

However, there may be an issue in mission 3 "Ryleh3.FS2".  You're escorting a Terran cruiser through an asteroid field.  Then some Vasudans jump in (Omega and an escort wing) which are purple on the radar.  Delta wing destroys the freighter but then gets chastised by Command for firing on friendly targets.  When I eventually get to the mission debriefing it says I shouldn't have destroyed that transport.  Under 'recommendations' it says "It's a shame you couldn't distract the overzealous Delta".

I tried distracting them.  I tried ramming Delta, I tried firing in front of them, I even tried firing on them once or twice but Omega still got destroyed.

The campaign is still beatable, but is there any way to save Omega in mission 3 (I presume there is since 'recommendations' hints at it)?

I've never managed to save the transport, So I don't know.

I haven't managed to either, but the debriefing makes it sound like it's possible.

I've discovered a bug!

Whilst playing Ghost Revenants... if I am carrying the Annihilator Cannon, I cannot rearm... whenever I do, it appears to crash FS2. I'm using Fs2_open_3_7_2_RC5.exe.

I'll attach a log if needs be, if this is not already known about... or if this has been addressed in a nightly build, please let me know! :)

Edit:- Log now attached. What was wierd is that I was able to reload when playing in a window mode and using the debug build. So after I reloaded I decided to quit as I felt it a bit strange and thought it best to post the log. The debug build did throw up quite a lot of errors though!

Edit 2:- I just tried playing the game in window mode using the standard build and the game did just crash.

That seems to have sorted it. Strange that an old expansion like that can mess things up!

You were probably already going to do this, but when you redo "Allied Forces" could you make it 2014 mediavps compatible please?  I tried manually changing the mod.ini thing in the current release I have but some ships still looked like 2012.
