Oh, I see the starfield fine in game, just not in that screenshot, leading me to believe that it may have been neglected in the mission.

This was my mistake, actually.  Resolved.

Zacam:
The MediaVP starfiled does not show up because the mediavp starfield is not loading.

Instead of "Starfield.pof".
