"Affected by gravity" - implemented?
Search doesn't turn up any indicator it is, but figure I should check anyways in case I've missed something (as I am wont to do)

Re: "Affected by gravity" - implemented?
Is this supposed to be related to Models with a $Name: Planet xxxxx or so ?...I have tried but it doesn't seem to work my ship isn't attracted to it (even with a really good quantity in Mass' POF). I wonder if this is implemented, and if it is what it does ?

The search results indicated not, but the search results were all more than a good few months old.

You can script something like that...

Re: "Affected by gravity" - implemented?
It doesn't really do anything yet.  But it will, once I get around to adding gravity points. :)

These 'points'... can they be planar layers too? ;)

Re: "Affected by gravity" - implemented?
No.  Gravity is calculated from point sources. :p

What you could do is set one gravity point in the center of the plane, but really far away.

Re: "Affected by gravity" - implemented?
Exactly. In real life gravity works from a point source (at least as far as spherical objects are concerned) so unless you're planning on having very weirdly shaped objects that need gravity you should be fine with points. :)
Karajorma's Freespace FAQ. It's almost like asking me yourself.

Side question: would a big ship like the Colossus or the Sathanas-class have enough mass to affect a slight gravity pull on fighters and/or each other?

Re: "Affected by gravity" - implemented?
No, not a noticable one, unless there's somthing more at work (how do Shivan engines work, anyway?)

Does this mean my missiles are going to fall down and hit the planet (maybe this is why warheads detonate when they reach their maximum range, it'd be a pitty to hit the planet your trying to protect with a Helios, or a Harbinger).
