(Since the other thread got locked before I could respond)

I know it looks like I just repeatedly bash on Inferno, but I'm not meaning it in any bad way.  Inferno was one of the mods I was really looking forward to, and I still love the big ships.  I just call problems like I see them.  It's nothing against the Inferno team at all; you guys rock.  I just hate it when awesome mods are given rushed, bug-filled, problematic releases.  I know you guys are working on it too, and it's extremely commendable.

And I know you guys get busy.  Same here, I've been trying to work on a sequel to the 10 mission campaign I released four years ago, but things just get in the way.  It's understandable.

Just keep up the good work.  Again, I don't want to hurt your motivation or desire to work on this; I just want to do my best as an outsider from the team to help Inferno be the best it can. :)
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

I agree Inferno was pretty good and I did play through it a few times back in the day. I just wish there was more to the Shivan part of the story than just bashing Shivans. It would be nice to have more development around the species. I know many like it kept secret to make them stay mysterious, but BP came up with their own fanon on them, and Inferno can do the same. It would make a world a difference.

I know people work and have lives, but BP seems to move along despite this. I know this is not about BP.  But I'm curious; even with lives and work, would it take 10 years to release a campaign when it is not a solo made campaign and has a few team members?

But I agree it is good to take your time if it means a good campaign, as long as people don't give up on the project after so much work has been done.

Will there be any Shivan development like there was in FS1 and FS2 and other fan-made campaigns?

Edited to fix typo: 'alone' should have been 'along'.

Development takes time. A lot of time, unpredictable time. Sometimes not much progress is made for long stretches of time; sometimes a lot happens in very little.

Something will happen sooner or later on the INF front. Just let it be.

Also, feature creep.  Just ask Goober and Galemp about that. :p

I have some concern about Inferno. This mod is special to me coz it was a first thing ever that convinced me to register at internet forum (and if I look back then...wow it was soo long ago, almost at dark age of 56k modems for me).

There was a time when I was happy about so much progress (INF:A release, WIP on INF:SCP, INF:A SA, INF:A2 and even some shots of half-confirmed INF:Gateways). Now I start to think that even closest to release INF:A SA will die before release :(

I expect progress will pick up if/when Mobius comes back.

Hell someone might be working on it right now for all we know. Inferno doesn't place such a high priority on public relations as it once did (partly because of the moronic rubbish we've seen lately).

That's what has Inferno pinned down, some posts I've read a few threads saying that FREDding was done or just a mere mission away, and that was nearly two years ago.

I expect progress will pick up if/when Mobius comes back.
Where has he been anyway?

I believe that's wrong. I don't think INF SCP actually has any FRED progress yet; they're still working on the modpack.

Or so I'm led to understand.

INFASA on the other hand is in an extended polishing phase, but Mobius has gone MIA.

A campaign with such a long development cycle as Inferno is bound to get bogged down, which is what we're seeing on many of the projects hosted on this board.

I sent this offline message to Mobius: Some of the HLP members and I are talking about Inferno and we are wondering about progress. Snail believes progress will probably pick up again when you return, but they are wondering where you are. Have you been working on INF recently?

Something like that.

I occasionally see him online, but we don't really chat much.

I assumed he was on your contact list, Snail, since you guys worked together, but you seem to not know his status, so maybe he is not on your list anymore. I'm not sure.

I've been meaning to mention this somewhere, but if the Franscesco D'Amico I dug up from the Hard Light Facebook group is Mobius, he has either some issues or a weird sense of humour, since this person has marked himself as a widow and a father of three.

Or Facebook has localization issues.

:nervous:

Edit: It's gotta be him. The MSN address matches.
