Yah your cutscene is great.  But here is an idea, I was thinking, as you show the Lucifer warping into the system and approaching the planet,  have some vassudan ships in the background maybe a station or 2, and then, when you cut back to it, throw in a allot of debris a few wrecks and some bomber escort. The player can make the connection that all defenses were wiped out, and quickly, rather artistically I think.were suppose to be smarter then humans or at least they boasted it quite allot.

A great way for the lucifer to warp in is have it warp in when there's a bunch of space stations and destroyers in front of it. Talk about cold shoulder maneuver from the lucifer.

The Chronos isn't a Vasudan design though, so how does the Vasudan's perceived superior intellect apply here?  That's a Terran freighter class.

Holy Crap! :shaking:   Your right.  all this time  I have been thinking of the wrong ship!   Chronos isn't upsidedown! Thats they way it was designed to pick up cargo.   No, Ive been thinking of the Satis Transport which IS upside down in your cut scene IcyJones.  Wow most of you must have been thinking what the hell am I talking about.  :o Well replace every word Chronos with Satis and it will start making sense.  :rolleyes:
I thought it might have been something like that.  No worries!

The Satis always flies looking upside-down, whereas that Chronos you see in the cutscene IS literally flying upside down.
I've no problems with the Satis; at the end of the cutscene, it's flying upside-down, but that's in space, so that's okay.

Doesnt fly upside down in mission.
Its flying upside down in atmo too which makes people think its an error.  A) it looks really odd to be approaching a civilan city in a reckless position.  B) its just plain silly

Change your orientation and any said ship in space is upside down or right side up :lol:

Like I said, in space, orientation is not an issue as there is no gravity (unless the ship has it).

But a planet MUST have some kind of gravitational field for it to be "a large round object". Assuming that that is true for all planets, then you can't just fly upside down in an atmosphere because the planet's gravity would pull all the blood in Terran pilots to their brain. :wtf:

Not if you have a artificial gravity system in your ship. That would let the occupants inside the ship resist the pull of gravity outside of the ship. Therefore you could fly upside down with your blood flowing like normal with everyone standing up and walking around. Now if the occupants were to leave their ship, they'd fall on their heads.

Also it'd really suck in space to not have artificial gravity because your muscles and bones will atrophy in a non-gravity environment. So venturing off into space for the long term with ships that have artificial gravity is a must. Especially for planets that may have weaker or stronger gravity than earth.

And hell really orientation of a ship anywhere planetside or in space it wont matter what it's orientation is. It wont matter if anything is flying upside down or right side up. The only vehicles that need to have an orientation is stuff like trains, cars, boats, etc (you have a car on it's side or upside down it's obvious it won't do ****). But have a fighter upside down, on it's side, pointing straight up, pointing straight down, or right side up, it's orientation doesn't matter planetside as much as it doesn't matter in space.

That brings up another point. Should that be the case, the artificial gravity-making machine on these ships should be adjustable. If the device generates too little gravity, it would have little effect; too much, and you'll literally be flattened.

Yeah :)

Hell of a way to keep your ship from being boarded too. Set up a safe room with normal gravity, and have higher gravity throughout the rest of the ship.

And also some missions to choose like fight for Ross 128 and fight for Vasuda
(like in FS2 campaign u can play them but dont have to)

Not that I want to bump this, but I never could get how to get this to work in-game. I assumed that I was supposed to export the freespace.fc2 with a VP editor, edit it with notepad by adding the briefing cutscene, and import it again with a VP editor, but it hasn't been working. What am I doing wrong here?

EDIT: Also, in the FSPort Techroom, the only cutscene I see is the Introduction. Everything else is FS2-related. Is there supposed to be a cutscene.tbl for that?

I'm not totally sure but there might be something wonky with how the .ogg version is encoded. And the .avi will never run in-game.

If you have FSPort as an active mod and if you've selected the FS1 campaign and if you have all the FS1 cutscenes in proper format in the right location, they should be listed there once you've encountered them during the campaign (or if you just hit Ctrl-Shift-S in the cutscene section).

I thought it would work, too. CTRL Shift S only shows the FS2 ones minus the Intro, which probably only shows because it has the same name as Intro for FS2. Is this correct anyway?
