I don't Pause in the middle of missions to give orders.

That's not "cheating", since the engine allows it (I really think it shouldn't, personally), but it's against the spirit of the game and I don't play that way.

If that's the only way to beat the timing, the mission should get adjusted, for sure; that's about the least-intuitive way to solve a problem in a RTS- take out the RT.  Problems in RTS games should not ever get solved by resorting to using Pause to give orders, it breaks the immersion.

Try playing it without Pause, you'll see the problem with having to move the camera, click the Hunchback, etc., in real time.   I'm no Starcraft pro, mind you, but I don't suck at RTS stuff, either, and it's just about impossible, because it takes at least 10 seconds and that means the Clan's in range.

I really think it should have the ABL fixed to operate as the mission was obviously designed, anyhow; it's the third mission in the official campaign in the official release now, not just a third-party campaign meant to give people an additional challenge after Carver V; it needs a reasonable difficulty ramp.

None of the other missions I've played out have this problem.  The timing on the rescue-the-vips mission is pretty ridiculous, but it's doable.

Problem similar to zigzag's, I am afraid.
I have the original game - runs fine.  Downloaded MCO several times and continue to get the Button Allocation Error after I load a mission.  I have downloaded and extracted the .rar file to the /art folder, and replaced them.  Still receiving the error message.

I have also changed the screen resolution on my computer, checked the options menu in MCO - and still the same problem.

Open to suggestions?

For some reason you are running MCO in less then 1280x1024. I simply forgot to change config files for lower resolutions.

Solution:
https://rapidshare.com/files/1773334566/Low_res_button_layout_added_button_20.rar

Unpack and copy contents of the archive to your data/art folder. Overwrite.

xenoargh, you are correct, I will move clan mechs a little bit farther. There is no time delay.

Crashes every time I attempt to finish final mission of Carver V_{Magic} Campaign (Operation Goliath).
Re-loaded quick save and tried several times, with slightly different changes to how I ended/extracted.
Did mission again real quick, tried to extract, crashed.   :(  I want the satisfaction of seeing the post-mission wrap-up.

MetalTheory,

thank you that bug is fixed for the next release.

Got the following error in Mercenary's Star for MCO, defend dropship mission.  'Mechs carrying ammunition for weapons they don't have.  All 'mechs started out with no weapons.  At the time had Carver V original campaign installed, Day of Heroes, Merc's Star, Wolf's Dragoons, and a couple of others.

Kind of strange to have an "ammo load out error" on a 'mech with all energy weapons...

Have also noticed that if your repair vehicle gets nuked by enemy forces, you can't send in another one.  Sometimes that carries over between restarts of the mission.

Hi Guys,

My first post to you guys. Thank you for Omnitech. I have only gotten to the MW2 campaign Oberon mission, but its fantastic.
Level design: A+
Difficulty setting on regular:A+
New mechs I have never seen before in MC2: A+
Number of bugs encountered: 3 bugs. Again A+

The bugs:
Bug 1) After reaching a number of items in depot (Dont know how many exactly), the game crashes.
Bug 2) This seems to be linked with Bug no.1 because after the crash no matter what savegame I load, the  mech purchase options are more limited. Mechs are missing that were there before the crash example: Uziel, Thanatos, Argus etc...

Working workaround: Just load and replay previous mission (Solaris Finals in MW2 campaign) and sell a lot of items example: Leave only 6 per each weapon type in your depo except LRM's. I have about 20 of Lrm's. That fixed the crash and corrupt mech purchase.

Bug 3) If I use jumpjets on more mechs at the same time, and they land into forrest areas. 1 mech can get stuck forever in a knocked down tree.

Workaround: Nothing...Have to reply mission and make sure not to jump on trees. Nothing else worked.

Thank you all for your work in Omnitech!!!Long live oldschool Battletech!

Hello Mcray !

Thanks for posting, and welcome to this board :) Is this error always coming up and make it unable to continue ? The thing, we are more or less on holiday brake now (at least Magic is for the next 2 weeks)... So I'm afraid it will take a while to look into this matter.

But thanks for your feedback AND the good ratings, it's highly appreciated :)

Hi Starman01,

Yes its a permanent problem, and I have not been able to advance to next mission. I want to test if it has something to do with the number of items in my depot again by selling more stuff, and I still have more ideas like:
-Too many mechs in depot(?) (I have a full army haha)
-Too many mechs salvaged in Oberon battle (3 Clan Omni + the Mission hardcoded Flashman) (?)
-I destroyed the mission hardcoded repair truck I had for more XP for my green mechwarrior (?)

I will be away from PC too for a week or so so it might be some time until I can test everything when trying to beat the mission again.

Might just try starting a another campaign  :)

Ok I did some testing.

I salvaged one less mech and did not damage/ kill any friendly utility units (The way I described above)

I got the exact same error and crash when I moved my force to the mission exit grid as the one posted in my post above. Prior to the mission I cleared out my depo and mechbay as much as I could, so my conclusion is that the crash has nothing to do with:
-Too many items/mechs
-Killing friendly non com unit for XP
-Salvaging too many mechs

So there Im. Stuck. With a Mad Cat, a Gargoyle and a Masakari as my salvage prize, and a game that refuses to move on. Damn.

This is an error I get when I try to start the campaign that comes with MCO:

Hello Shadou and Jaguar,

welcome to the forums :) This is currently a bit of a common problem due to our changes with the ingame Gui, it doesn't support all resolutions. We had a fix, but the admins here are very quick and already deleted the attachments  :p

What resolutions are you guys using ?

@Zarax : Do you still have the resolution fix file laying around somewhere ? Can you upload it to the FTP ? Then it's save and will remain :)

I'm running 1280x800.

EDIT: What directory do I extract the file to?

Starman01,

Is it possible that I got the crash above because it was the last mission of the Mw 2 campaign? Can you please confirm? The mission number is "mw2_7_1"

Thanks

Sorry, I must admit that I do not know that, because i never finished that campaign. What i can tell you, is that there is also a crash when you finish the last mission of the original campaign. Might be related to some code that is related to campaign endings.

So if that's your case, yes, absolut possible. Lucky part for you in that case, you can continue playing the other campaigns as well  ;)
