Hello all, I've been playing FS2 and after seeing some of the beam pictures in people's screenshots, I realize mine look like crap. They're basically alternating beams that don't look nearly as good. Does anyone have a beam textures' pack out, as I'd like to try different ones to see which I like best. I see this somewhere here before but I cannt find the topic again. Sorry if this is a repeat topic.

Don't use the animated beams in mv_adveffects for a start and your beams will look better.

How do you turn 'em off then? Without removing mv_adveffects that is?

You can also go here and get DaBrain's "More sane version of the animated beamglows". Since they go into the dat\effects folder in the mediavps dir, they'll over-ride the vp ones.

you can take stuff out of the vps. just open the vp with a vp editor and take out all the files that have to do with the beams, the filenames should be explanatory, there are not of things in that vp.
