Please read the FSO FAQ (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=56279.0). Please follow its instructions on how to generate a debug log.
I also note that you are apparently playing Blue Planet. How did you install it? And did you follow the install instructions?

I am playing blue planet. I was playing it on the 3.6.10 build, i installed it through the FSO installer link at the very top, which installed the blue planet with the rest of the stuff. Unfortunately some missions kept saying stuff like missing class ships so i decided to look into it.
After looking into it i discovered that blue planet needs the 3.6.12 build which i downloaded but the launcher doesn't load neither the d or r exe's.
Thanks for the link, I'll check it out!
EDIT: Added the log
Oh and, this is the error that i get when playing certain missings in blue planet....(they vary slightly from mission to mission, I tried redownloading all the blue planet files from their own website with no success).
Error: Invalid subsystem name.

The problem is that you're not using a 3.6.12 Inferno build. Easy fix.
EDIT: wait, or maybe not...it looks like you only have the BP Core files. Download the others too.
-
No, the problem is that only the bp core vp is installed.
Genoism, please use the installer to install all the other components of BP, as well as the patch for the mediavps.
-
Alternatively you can just grab them from the release thread on the BP forums.
-
do i put the other bp components in the same folder as with the core? They were all installed there, i see 2 audio and 2 visual vps with the core. The sound, and many of the new ships(unique to BP) showed up just fine in BP until I came to the part where u meet the alien race, and the game just used a standard terran ship(i think) instead. Textures, music everything was ok but those ships....><
I have the patch for the mediavps as well....

Could you run the debug build again and post a new log? Because the old log shows that it fails to read those files.
Oh, you can also remove the FS2 CD from your drive.
-
This is odd. :nervous: The symptoms sound exactly like you're not using an Inferno build.

O.O i didn't know I didn't need the CD anymore thanks! :D
Well then, I tried this, i deleted the bp folder and used the installer again....for whatever reason it appears that everything works with the rc2 version! ( despite me getting some wierd errors before with it)
I really appreciate the help you guys gave me!

On that note, RC3 was released a short while ago (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=70047.0).
