I'm trying to install FS2 Open on a linux machine with an intel HDA soundcard. The visuals are great, but the sound is very poor. It constantly pops, crackles, distorts, and stutters at all times while running the game. All other sound seems to be fine. I have made sure that libopenal is installed and I don't get any real errors when starting freespace. I've installed it on other linux machines without any sound problems nearly as disruptive to gameplay (I get an occasional click or pop on my home computer with an AC97, but this is ridiculous). Any ideas?

For the AC97 problem, get the latest drivers from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ , that will fix it... for the Linux problem, IDK... ask taylor.  *shrugs*
