I believe mod.inis work fine on non-Windows, just follow the instructions in JeffVader's last post.

That's set up correctly - if your mediavps folder is named mediavps_3612, and you select 'blueplanet' as your mod in the launcher (can you use a launcher? i assume so), it should work fine.

well in the tech room, the GTF ulysses looks like default fs2 ulysses.
i went through the blueplanet ships, the raynor's not crashing the game anymore, and the titan and anemoi dont have lines, but they have holes, almost as if i werent running the vps at all, would u like a debug log?

Yes. Your mediavps are not loading. Are you _sure_ your MediaVPs folder is named 'mediavps_3612' and is located in your FreeSpace 2 directory?

hmmm... is it possible the file became corrupt if i transfered it from my mac via flashdrive? if so.. could someone give me a download link to blueplanet age of aquarius and mediavps 3.6.12?

Post one more debug log with blueplanet selected as your mod. Also a screenshot of your FS2 folder if possible.

Your mod.ini is broken or isn't being read or something. Manually add ,mediavps_3612 to your command line in the launcher, or by editing the launcher config file directly.

might i have help in doing that? im not sure how, and by the way, heres the screen shot, sorry about the quality
i figured it out and manually added vps, it loaded, and the ulysses and all other normal fs2 ships appeared with vps, i got no errors, but when i looked at blueplanet ships in the tech room, all cap ships appeared with lines flying off, exept the raynor, which crashed the game.

So one more check: are you going to the 'mod' tab in the launcher and selecting the 'blueplanet' folder? And do you get a popup with an icon of Earth's horizon and a description?

Then the launcher is not reading your mod.ini file correctly. Just to be sure, open your mod.ini (make sure it's still named that!) and replace its contents with the following:

it was copied and pasted in, with all previous contents deleted. its still showing only blueplanet as the selected mod. would transfering the mod in a folder from another computer ( from a mac to this windows) have any effect on, maybe breaking files or corupting it?

You could, but it shouldn't be necessary - we know what the problem is, it has nothing to do with your Blue Planet files, it's the fact that the MediaVPs aren't loading. Wait for someone to come along and tell you how to set up a manual command line.
