FSO crash on startup
Hey folks, first time here. Bought the game on steam, tried basically all methods to install FSO. FSOInstaller crashed on startup first. Then I tried wxlauncher method which also crashed on startup. Lastly I tried the most user friendly method Knossos after a clean reinstall of the base game from Steam. When I started the retail version from the home tab, to my suprise it crashed again. The general windows error message shows this,

Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name:   APPCRASH
  Application Name:   fs2_open_19_0_0_x64_AVX.exe
  Application Version:   19.0.0.0
  Application Timestamp:   5e2c8f24
  Fault Module Name:   atio6axx.dll
  Fault Module Version:   22.19.171.1024
  Fault Module Timestamp:   595c11d4
  Exception Code:   c0000005
  Exception Offset:   0000000000e87d30
  OS Version:   6.3.9600.2.0.0.768.100

  Additional Information 3:   a2b1
  Additional Information 4:   a2b1dcca22d5be400429f59abb019455

I didn't know if this is enough so I did the quick debug from Knossos client as it is stated in the FAQ. Here is the log:

I don't know what went wrong, even the most straightforward method, Knossos, didn't seem to help me. It basically shows me a brief black screen then instantly crashes. FYI, all my installation folders are outside of ProgramFiles in the root C drive if that changes anything.

Re: FSO crash on startup
I wonder if it's a video card issue. R7s are pretty low-end, right? Or are they amazing and I'm just a dumbo?

  -mod FS2

Is this normal? Running the game as a mod of itself? Seems suspicious...is this how Knossos handles loading retail data?

Re: FSO crash on startup
Turns out downloading atio6axx.dll and putting it to the base folder solved all the issues. Oh well it was easy.
