Pilot (and data) disappeared mid-campaign

Hi,

I installed FS Open a few days ago and am using Knossos. I played through FS Port and was in the middle of ST:R. Yesterday night I played and quit the game normally.
This morning I load the game and my pilot is gone, I'm being asked to create a new one.
I tried opening up FS Port, pilot is gone from there too.
Very annoying. Anyone know the cause for this?
