Anyway there's a difference between the Cain/Lilith and the Rakshasa. The Rakshasa could be 'recent',as demonstrated by its design and weaponry...the Shivans develop technologies too,maybe after seeing what other civilizations are capable of.

Perhaps they integrate the technologies of the civilizations they destroyed, like in FSFreak's mod with the flak.

It could be. They could have the technology but not a valid design concept, so they need to look at other civilizations products of engineering. Just check how different Shivan ships are each other...

If the ship was in R1, then in some cases yes, but many were remapped or replaced.
