So my gun has been confiscated (I have no quarrels with that, makes sense) my parents worried ridiculously so, and now I don't trust anyone

There's an agency that's allowed to do that ****?  That's crossing the line of what I'd consider reasonable response, especially considering that it sounds like nobody even tried to get in touch with you before they stole your ****.
