I've finished working on my first demo. I hope there aren't any serious bugs (60% of the time went into debugging.)

From the brief description on the FSMods page, I take its something like Transcend?

You are snet into the Gamma Dracconis node to find the GTC Optimen, but when both your wingmates are destroyed by a mysterious force, you jump out and try to convince the GTA that something is wrong in the nebula. They think your crazy, attack you, and you are force to take sides and do the bidding of whatever the thing is that is making the weird stuff happen. You are teamed up with two other wingmen, and start to dig for the truth of it all. But, "it" won't let you, and "it" fights back to conceal the truth.

The campaign will have somewhere between 12 and 16 missions.

Maybe I'm being an idiot, but I put the folder in freespace 2 folder and tried to activate the mod. The launcher says "parameter "demo" not recognized" but I can get on the game anyway. I check the campaign room and only the default freespace 2 campaign shows up.

Checking the TMW folder, there's no config file of mod or  settings like all the other mods have. Does, TMW need these?

Also, check the credits, it says "Something" I don't want to sound all arsehole like but I asked for Somethingfake

And for your BMP image it has to be 255 x 112 to fit in the fs2 launcher.

I've changed the link in the first post. I've changed some things and re-packaged it (fixed the readme, added 255x112 screenshot, added a mod.ini.) Hope the mod.ini works. Enjoy.

Hmm, I try but after selecting it, I can't choose any campaigns than the default FS2.

And it keeps saying -demo- not recognised. Maybe change that?

Does the demo ship with a settings.ini? If yes, there's probably a "-demo" flag in there, for some unknown reason.

Exactly. Rename to "The mystery's within" or something and it'll work.

On a related note, there are some old skool bloopers in the mod.ini.
1. "secondrylist" could and preferrably should be "secondarylist".
2. The comma before "mediavps" is unnecessary.
The last line should therefore be "secondarylist = mediavps;"

I don't actually know squat about FRED 'n stuff, but I compared the campaign file to Blue Planet's campaign file, changed "$Flags: 0" to "$Flags: 1" and it now appears in the Campaign Room. Campaign file here.

Hey. I get "Unrecongzined Command line parameter -Demo- continue?"  And if you hit OK it doesn't show up in the campaign folder. I've tried older and newer nightly builds too.   Keep on it.

I meant this one. Place it to \freespace2\themysteryswithin\data\missions\ (create the directory).

I changed the file to The_Mystery_within_demo it got rid of the error message but the campaign would not show up in the campaign room.  I extracted the missions from the VP file into a missions folder in thedata folder and it worked fine.  OBTW there are no replay mission options in the campagn file so if you jump out of a mission with the events incomplete and try to go to the next mission it will end the campaign.

I also have a problem with mission "The Mystery's within 5".  The event, Area secure, is not working.  The destroyer leaves, the station is destroyed and all the fighters are destroyed.  Then nothing happens.  I get a message saying the destroyer has left but not one to depart.  If I warp out I get a debriefing saying I was successful.  If I hit accept the campaign ends and I have to start over.

And I'm sooooo sorry about the crappy packaging problems. It's my first time I had to do it, so I did what I thought would work. When the main campaign comes out, I'll get some help to get these problems resolved. And if I find the time, I'll see if I can re-package it and fix it. Once again, sorry for the inconvenience.

So how are the missions themselves?
