After about six weeks of just non-stop activity, my body needs to recover. Woke up today with a cold and a sore throat, and I can feel it getting worse; I'm starting to feel weak already. Lucky it happened during the holidays and not before. I'm putting my plans on hold for the next few days, and will be lying low at home trying to get better.

i think i finally fixed my desktop.  found that the video card was not broken by swapping them out.  managed to boot into safe mode, and then everything magically worked again the next time i went to boot normally. 

now if i can just figure out why the new BIOS is giving my RAM hell....

I always forget that people are going to set off fireworks on July 4, because my town puts Independence Day to shame on Labor Day weekend.

Well, so far New Mexico has avoided any firework-bearing morons starting a giant fire. Hopefully that continues.

Most major stores weren't even selling fireworks this year due to the dryness and the proximity of that fire in Colorado. Heck, the only reason fireworks weren't outright banned is that the governor doesn't actually have the legal authority to do that.

Of course there's not a giant fire.  It won't be giant-sized, until at least the morning.

Just the 2.  The kitten is supposed to be temporary, but my mom doesn't want to take him away from my other cat now that she sees how much they like each other

support people are ****ing stupid.  and now that i've sorta fixed my original problem with my desktop, my x-fi's sound got all ****ed up again.  last time it did this it took me a LONG ****ing time of useless support and countless driver wipes and reinstalls to fix, and i don't remember what the final solution was.
