followed by a

Can't it be made to only shrink images, and not enlarge them? I don't know SMF though.

Re: SPOILER and LVLSHOT tags restored
It works.. people on the above posts just abused it.

It basically resizes the image to fit the screen. Very useful with large (wide) images as then you do not have to scroll to the right the see the whole image but instead you get sort of a 'preview' of the whole image - of course clicking the image gives you the real (unscaled) image.

Code: [Select]
[lvlshot]image url[/lvlshot]
Do not meddle in the affairs of coders for they are soggy and hard to light

Re: SPOILER and LVLSHOT tags restored
LVLSHOT is still working; Fury just edited it out of the posts.

LVLSHOT resizes an image to a width of 640, while keeping the height proportional; and it inserts a link to the non-resized image.  This is so that large images don't stretch the post over the edge of the screen.  It doesn't do any sort of thumbnailing though, so you still have to wait for the large image to download.

As an unintended side effect, it can also be used to stretch smaller images to a width of 640.  That's what the smileys were doing.  But that's a super-secret in-joke, meant to be used sparingly. :p
