Trouble with BP WiH Black Screen when ships on screen + distorted sound
Hi, I'm playing BP WiH but I'm noticing the entire screen goes black except for the HUD when looking at enemy capital ships. This didn't happen in AoA... Edit: It even happens with friendly cap ships and torpedoes... :/

Also the sound seems very overblown with explosions clipping badly and shockwaves sounding like a distorted overdriven speaker...

Please post your fs2_open.log file.  Instructions on how to do this can be found in this post.

Sounds like you're probably having trouble with the special BP builds - although I'd be surprised if you didn't play AoA on those too. Did you run that campaign recently?

Yes I played it one/two days before I started WiH ;p

It "crashed" on the debug build when I clicked commit so I'm not sure if the issue will show up or not...

Presumably you were using the same build on both, then.

It does it on build SSE2 (Are there other ones?), 3.6.17 and 3.7.1. Windows 7 64 bit FS2 installed in C/Games.

Since you don't have the compability package installed, you must play BP on one of the BP builds provided with your installation, or a BP build from this thread: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=83318.0

Or install the compatibility package in the BP forum and play it with a recent nightly build.

Also kinda looks like your pilot file is corrupt. Grab one of the BP builds in the thread I linked above, create a brand new pilot, and try BP2 again.

I am using the builds from that 7z file. I was trying to avoid having to reconfigure my controls from the default every time I play a new campaign, so the pilot is the same one from AoA...

If you really want to keep that pilot, and you're not afraid of using a hex editor, and you back up the file before starting, you can try to recover the pilot using the link in my .sig. (Red Alert Bug = Hex Edit)

Is post-processing on? The black screen sounds like an issue I had a few months ago with the BP builds which I never found the cause of, but went away when post-processing was on.
