GRIP - Rollcage spiritual successor on Kickstarter
Update : Now on kickstarter !

Do you remember Rollcage and Rollcage Stage 2 ? They were two racing games released by Psygnosis in the 90s.

These were very intense racing games, with cars having weapons, and being able to drive on walls and ceiling.

Think of Blur, but in more intense, and with more freedom driving-wise.

Robert Baker (developer responsible for porting Rollcage and Rollcage Stage 2 from PS1 to PC back in the days) and Chris (a Rollcage fan) are currently developing GRIP, a spiritual successor to Rollcage. It's going to have very nice graphics, but also I believe the gameplay will be at least as fun as the previous Rollcage.

If you used to play Rollcage, but even if you did not, I suggest to take a look at the GRIP trailer

On a personal note, I have always counted Rollcage as one of my favourite games, and definitely the best racing game I have ever played.
That's why I care a lot of GRIP. But even people who never played or heard of Rollcage seem to like it, and that's amazing :) (in the Rollcage community, we call this "Rollcage magic")

Some videos of Rollcage for the curious :

Some of Rollcage Stage 2 :

The kickstarter is now launched, and they need a lot of coverage to make this dream happen

Re: GRIP - Rollcage spiritual successor on Steam Greenlight
This looks good but I would wait until it's released before getting too excited about it, given the track record kickstarters have. I'm a big fan of the Rollcage games. That style of racing game is almost nonexistent today, but they actually have more gameplay depth than the standard "realistic" games.

Rollcage? Rollcage!

Rollcage was amazing, the sheer idiocy of a car with wheels bigger then it's chassis is as cool as it sounds.

Oh man I remember this game ! Well that's a bit like that, but with more freedom in driving, and more variety in weapons
