Bugs/glitches in games... funny ones preferably
So what's the deal... exactly what the topic says.
It's time to share some of the bugs you or someone has encountered in the games we all so love (or not).

Text, images, YouTube links... whatever goes.

Ok I'll start.

In FF7 back in the -99, me and my friend had a bit of a trouble navigating Cloud to talk one of the NPC.
The reasons were:

1) Cloud was about 10x his normal size.
2) He was upside down inside the floor.

When we finally managed to talk and story moved forward, we noticed that Cloud was not the only one who has suffered from the spell of a glitch witch.
Vincent had his foot in the air and when he walked it was... ... umm, how would I explain it. Ok, imagine the legendary Monty Python joke "Ministry of Silly Walks", just replace John Cleece with Vincent. That should be quite accurate.

Ok so that's my own experience. Your turn.

Oh and here's a one YouTube video that actually made me start this whole topic.

Re: Bugs/glitches in games... funny ones preferably
at first i didnt understand the topic point, but after watching that vid i now see what you were saying.

in freelancer, i have noted some odd bugs.
1. when in multiplayer or single player by just randomness, the large freighters are planet side, the thing is that for some strange piloting reason they always want to go "planet hugging" and blow up in the process.
2. ai paths are also weird, the ai ships are always ordered in a minefield! .
3. the best one is where your at gammu, passed the first sun and the other one is about 150k away and you get to the sun and you do not get a corona warning you just bounce off the sun!.

in GTA:SA,
1. you use your sniper rifle at night then the moon is in orbit, zoom and fire your sniper round directly at the moon, it gets bigger.
2. push an ai car off the rich district up on the hill near the beach, clothes stores, the bridge to red neck county and the road to the pier and feris wheel. and in your car wouldn't be able to get up a 75 degree angle, however you watch the ai car go up the hill and bump it back down and see the same thing again.

mean while enjoy this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X62pk_s7WhA

In the PC edition in Morrowind, I've discovered that some of the ramps on the Vivic Arena Canton are actually incorporal. You can fall right through them if the right circumstances are met, I'm just not sure what they are. Similarly, the silt strider guy in Gnisis somehow fell through the boarding ramp in one of my games and spent the rest of his time down by the giant bug's legs, about twenty or twenty five feet directly below where he was supposed to be.

Re: Bugs/glitches in games... funny ones preferably
I could write up about 20 pages of this stuff if I had time, especially since I go through every game actively looking for things like this. :D

I finished Crysis a few days ago, so I will describe some things in that:

1: If you pick up any of the animals, move them somewhere slightly far away and put them down, they will start flying or walking in odd ways. For example, putting a bird on a tree or a person orients it sideways and makes it walk upwards, as if it's scaling a wall. This works with turtles, birds, chickens and frogs. The turtle in particular moves like a rocket if you toss it instead of putting it down. This glitch is well documented on Youtube.
2: In the last level, if you spend enough time outside before going in with Psycho, the bot paths get messed up and he gets stuck on a stairwell with another guy, who is trying to go the other way on the stairs. I don't know exactly how I got this to occur, but it looked pretty hilarious so I kept a save game of it.
3: In the last level, there is one black soldier who looks somewhat drunk, and if you stare at him for a while, he starts saying stuff to you. The odd thing about this guy is he seemingly keeps doing it after you move away. When the nuke went off, I could still hear him saying things like "you got a problem?" or "you lost?" from downstairs.
4: You can occasionally make moving characters slide (this effect is described in the next link and appears in many games) by standing in front of them or putting stuff in their way. I did this with a few running guys at various points in the game, as well as a few people in the last level who the game lets you push around, such as the guy in the hazmat suit.

There is also my Deus Ex glitch list, as well as numerous ragdoll-related glitches in Deus Ex: Invisible War. I have several saved games of weird stuff in both of these titles.

That happened on the Xbox as well :)

I don't think you can count anything in a Bethesda game as a bug.  :p

-------

Crysis (demo) bugs:

If you stand in the corner of one of the first huts, and open the door to the refrigerator, it will kill you.

Once, I picked up the turtle at the beginning and tossed it at a boulder. It bounced back at me, and I died from the force of the impact.

One time, I changed the game resolution, and character textures (among other insane things) failed to load. The result of this was that I saw eyeballs talking to me during the introduction.

Another interesting thing that occurred (due to the above bug) was that I could see the... thing... smack into me at the beginning.

-----

I'll try to remember some more bugs later.

I've often exited GTA SanAnfreas buildings and had a plane immediatly crashed somewhere close by.

I think they spawn at a set speed, in the air and with no pilot.

This is surprisingly easy to do with certain objects, such as tires. I've killed myself many times while trying to stack tires on top of other people.

I get ones (most memorably in Jedi Acedimy) where for no reason my charicter will start spining at high speed.  You have to move the mouse around to get yourself back under controll.

There's a fish out of water in along the Sheogorad coast in northern Vvardenfell, that has to be a bug. :p

I have a huge collection of EVE character renderer errors, for which I have some vague plan to assemble them into a collage. :p

Well not according to Todd Howard at least. Remember kids: RPGs are based on the collection of knickknacks in your lair as opposed to dialog quality.

As for funny bug:
In Starsiege Tribes if you kept jumping while moving down a cliff you kept accelerating and could build speed to the point that you had enough momentum to jet over the next hill.

It was exploited to the point that it was declared a 'feature' to the detriment of the original balance.

In KotOR, my PC was walking, and his body started "flipping" back and forth, and at an angle. Which was damn weird. His hands, feet and head were still in postition and moving correctly, but his body ...

My Sword of Jyggalag still hasn't appeared.

check that, add assassins creed to that list. you use a dagger or sword and attack a archer from behind and kill em, he falls to the edge of a roof and slowly that dead body creeps further off the edge until the body drops when that happens. legs, arms, head and the body all fly around in very strage positions before it hits the ground, however it doesn't stop their it still moves a lot.

But that sounds more like the typical optical mouse bug, where the mouse freaks out and the cursor jumps to a corner of the screen. In FPS games this indeed shows up as the character spinning around to no end.

that only happens when a bit of dust, more like a dead hair wonders into the optical part, lift the mouse up turn in upside down and blow at the area to remove the hair, clean your surface and try again with your mouse.

Getting a probe to hold sprites in SC is easily my favorite. You can even get it to hold a rotating missle turret and the protoss building warp in texture, which seems to be surprisingly high res (512x512 or somthing, O_o)

Yeah, Assassin's Creed does some hilarious things with the ragdoll physics. Most interesting things happened when I was in the practice fighting circle and started pushing the two dudes against the railing, they stumbled, fell, and then their body parts started zipping all over the place like some kind of deranged version of Sue from the Fantastic Four... they bounced around like that for a while, then they kinda warped themselves back together T-1000 style and re-appeared as normal human beings.

One hilarious "glitch" you kinda get when you first save a citizen from a bunch of soldiers, kill them, then don't immediately talk to the saved citizen but walk around a bit and let things calm down... then come back to the citizen, wait until a beggar starts fooling around saying those retarded lines about being sick and tired and hungry and me not understanding that she has nothing. Kill the beggar woman, then talk to the saved citizen, and you get the speech about how they can't thank you enough for saving them... it's rather hilarious even though it's more of a player-induced nonsense than a game glitch, but whatever. Morbid, but hilarious.

Other gems offered by the same game:

Front Wheel Drive
Rear Wheel Drive
A couple of guards raving it on
Horse Skydiving
A Guard at Duty
No Guards were harmed in making of this game

...and many, many others.

This game is fun to play through at least oncy, but sometimes it kinda reminds me of Big Rigs... with the distinction that Assassin's Creed is a game with goals and can actually be played. :p
There are three things that last forever: Abort, Retry, Fail - and the greatest of these is Fail.
