Now, where in the FS2 directory might we find voice files? I looked in the 3.6.10 VPs but didn't see them in there, nor did I see them in any of the retail FS2 folders.

What I was asking was where in the main directory they are.
I've looked, and I can't find them. /FreeSpace2/data/voice is empty, and it's not anywhere in the 3.6.10 VPs.
Of course, it's entirely possible it's been right under my nose. I'm a teenager, so I'm inherently bad at finding stuff.

Nevermind. Just noticed the bolded "Stu" and did a search in the FS2 directory. Like I said, I'm bad at finding stuff.

damn.. i just sent my first voice acting attempt to general..oh well i am happy for my first attempt relaly. I tried for Tell...and before you ask i know its random but its been a long day for me

Received your audition. Unless something went crazy with the download, however, there seems to be something off with your mic...there's a lot of noise in there. Anything you can do to clean it up?

sent..sorry its a cheap mic built into my laptop the noise is the laptop itself and i can redo some things..again its my first attempt at a VA anything really. I really wanna do well and get a role somewhere though..hehe. just a goal of mine really

One new minor role up - the GTT Cyrus. At the top of the script.

Also, a little update. We're mostly done, and assuming our remaining roles are cast and recorded promptly, which is basically up to my harassment skills, this will be out by Christmas. I've been normalizing, cleaning, and placing lines of dialogue in-mission, and they sound uniformly great; better than I expected, in fact.

just sent the .wav file for that role..hope its ok..i know it may sound b  dbut..if you made my voice lower..and i was drunk..thats what i would sound like plus a lot of slurring/...but gotta try right lol? hope it works. Tried to reduce noise as best i could

I'll splash in as much of Commander Tell as I feel I am adequate of doing. I can't manage an Asian accent, so Iwakura is off for me.

Hey bahijal,

We received your line, but it remains somewhat distorted and inaudible. Try extracting some of the FS2 voice files using VPView and checking them out in Audacity for an idea of what we're looking for.

hmm if thats the case i wil try to give tell and cyrus another shot if i can get them up. any preference to file type?

edit: FDOUDN TEH PROBLEM was trying to speka to the wrong part of my laptop much better voice wise now just gotta redo the lines

Actually I don't think it would be a problem if Tells and Iwakuras transmissions have poor quality. Considering what kind of fighters they are using, inferiour (or rather barely functioning) communication gear doesn't seem that unlikely to me.
Those fighers have been patched together from many different ships and been in constant use for decades after all.
