I get the following error in a separate window every time I try and load the game, but only in BP2.

You've somehow installed BP to a separate "FreeSpace2" directory in your FS2 folder. Please move it out of there.

Speaking of, there are two things I should mention:
1. Your version of BP is ooooooold.
2. By using the super-convenient installer found here, you can get the latest one, which comes with such goodies as voice acting for the first part of War in Heaven, and several new missions and a ton of other enhancements.

MAybe that is the case, but has the FSOI been corrected to list Blue Planet again yet?

Just finished BP2, nice work all.  Now the big question, is there a BP3 coming?  I'd like to see the end of the story.

hi guys, i just reinstalled FSO and am getting the above errors which cause the mod to crash in first mission start, any ideas?

 
Looks like some sort of setup problem. Please post your fs2_open.log file.  Instructions on how to do this can be found in this post.

Try fs2_open 3.7.4 RC1 or recent nightly. BPC doesn't work with 3.7.2.

 
I don't get the errors on launch popping up, but it still crashes during the first loading screen (some models load text displays in the top left of the screen but I get a programme not responding error)?

It sounds like you're running the DEBUG executable. Run the one without DEBUG in the name  (also, it hasn't crashed, it just takes ages for the debug executable to load all the models, especially complicated ones like the new Erebus, and it takes so long that Windows *thinks* it's stopped responding... but it really hasn't)

Hah that worked ( iwas in debug to see if anything else was going on) took a very very long time to load and given my rig I thought it had crashed!
