As the title hints at, I have problems controlling my cannons in the mission were I fly the Katana. Or to be more precise, I can't controll them at all.
The commandbriefing tells me that I can use the arrow keys for that (up/down to select weaopons, left/right to switch the mode of the selected weapon), but when I use the arrow keys, nothing happens.
Since I remapped neither the arrow keys, nor anything on the num-block I'm at a loss as to what's wrong.

It's a code bug I unfortunately only found after 3.6.12 was finalized. So, at the moment, setting your turret target doesn't actually work.
Once again I am very sorry about this.

No excuse, you most make update!

Doesn't matter really, the mission can be completed by just smashing the first two corvettes then pointing away from the Diomedes until the Altan Orde says you can start "interfering more" (just keep jamming their beams or applying damage control, try to sit in the blind spot directly in front of the Diomedes, which you should be in anyway since it does a head-on charge towards you).
However, it would be nice to have working :P
-
Yep. Especially considering that there will be other missions where you get to fly the Katana.
-
Woot! More capship command!
-
It'd be nice to fly a raynor advancing on that smelly station from the intro.
-
wait. wut.
i don't remember flying a frigate...

Campaign room, 'The Blade Itself'.

LURK MOAR

Confused about the control, but still fun regardless, at least the autoaim is still working. I sure want to try other ships as well, like the Bellerophon and the Narayana.
-
Working for me. Or at least, It seems to be.
-
It's not working. And I am the guy who wrote the script, so I do know better than you :P. However, there's a codeside fix currently in FSO trunk that makes it work.
-
Well my guns were firing on what I told them to fire on, so :P
Do very much like the idea. Will you be implementing it for other capital ships too?
-
Yeah, probably.
-
Excellent.
I quite fancy piloting a Sanctus. Dunno why, I just have a fetish for cruisers.
-
I didn't have a problem with this one... the weapons *seemed* to be shooting at what I wanted...
-
Is there a way to set a weapon group to standby so it won't fire?
-
Not yet. Will be available in the future, though.
-
Is that script going to work with latest (very recently released) nightly?
-
I loved this mission
Eat my railguns salvoes frikking Tevs!
-
Yes, it will, HOWEVER: The script will require a lot of manual targeting at the moment. The problem is that with the code fixes, targeting will work (meaning "locked" weapons will stay locked"), but the "automatic" targeting mode is a bit broken if you change back to it from Lock or Track mode.
-
This one screams for a mouse/keyboard interface.
-
Still waiting for the day someone scripts a 'switch to turret' mode.

It's a quote from the Iliad, but I do believe Joe Abercrombie wrote a book with the title.
-
oh, I was hoping it was a reference to the Abercrombie book.

I read the Abercrombie book a couple years after the Iliad, but we're both referencing the same thing!
