Those Old Textures....
I was viewing INF_Main with ModelView,and I noticed that ships like the Phobos,the Icelus and the Boreas has textures token from FS2(upgraded with MediaVPs) while the patch uses its own textures,reletively old.

I changed it so in Steadfast the textures will be upgraded  ;7 (now only the EA textures are quite old...),but I don't know why Woomeister or whoever gave him help for the SCP Patch made those warships not upgradable.I know that there are too many textures which could slow down the game,but I don't consider this valid reason.

What do you think about it then?

The ones in the patch were actually for INF SCP to try and speed up the game by reducing the number of texture passes. The textures were made before lightspeeds first texture pack release so they are based off the retail textures.
Our current models only use those type of maps for lods now, it's standard tile maps for lod0

I was going to do add to my update, however as Woomeister pointed, there are several changes to that in the INF SCP VP (INF_2Patch.vp), all of the cruiser and above models which use tiles for the UV where totally changed to use just a single map, in other words seems like they used Render To Texture to collapse all the tiles in a single file.

Anyways, the models also change, and not only in UV mapping, some add newer turrets, this can't be done if you import all the entire set of turrets from old to new model, because the models have slight variations, you can see it with the Icelus. It is really troublesome...

Sorry for the doublepost...

I tested out the newer Icelus from the patch and I've lost all the shine effects, since the newer one doesn't use the capital4 texture. No idea if I should re-use the older POF, or experiment around (with bad results, since I can't model or texture or whatnot for nuts...)

There are no problems with me,I can insert the "new" models with FRED without reporting turret errors,ecc.(I have just extracted the old POF and put it into the Steadfast VP).

There shouldn't be any issues except perhaps with the Apothess.

The Patch Apothess is better than the old one so I leaved it in its place.

Yeah, the new Apothess looks really good. Wayyyy better than the old Apothess in R1-not-for-SCP.

And WTF was the GVCa Hesat (I know it's dropped, I just want a description of what it looked like... or a screenshot if you still have it)?

Well to make high quality HTL models you need a dedicated modeller and texturer. We also have the additional requirement that the HTL model matches the low poly version as close as possible so they can be swapped for lower systems.

We have no modellers so there's no new HTL models.
