I'll admit that's true.  :D

Because of a perspective and the fact that player is actually turned upside down (at least I think so).
This blue blast most likely came from Chimera, not from Sathanas.

Nice! A rocket propelled, triple bladed lightsabre really close to the camera!

It's awesome how that ship is basically a crewed gigantic beam cannon array with engines.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
One of my test missions in Wings is a 16v16v16v16 four-team free for all (every team fighting every other team) with infinitely respawning ships (except for you, the mission ends when you die). In this massive melee, I managed to take down a staggering 117 enemy fighters. I don't think I've scored this many kills in a mission before. Considering the mission time of 37:13, that works out to 188 kills per hour, or a kill every 19 seconds. I spent a good 8 minutes of this mission at 6% hull integrity, which is some excellent luck because in Wings, if you have 6% hull integrity, a single hit from anything will probably kill you.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
That's an impressive score, I don't think that I managed to get around that when playing this mission.
What did you flew on this attempt? I see that you downed fairly large number of Ferrets and Shrikes, which are not my favourite target.
Also, I don't recall having hostile Peregrines in there, but I might have just overlooked them in a furball.
BTW, is the ground extension I sent you working?

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Yes, the ground extensions are working. Still need to be balanced though; the flak turrets are ridiculous.

The Tigershark II with the Tactical Laser in the first primary slot instead of the Vulcan VII. Also, why is the Shrike such a difficult target? It's got plenty of HP but it's also not very maneuverable. As for the Peregrines, I added them.

I was aiming for my flak cannons to be similar to RL ones, which will tear you to shreads if you get anwhere near them.
I agree that they may need balancing gameplay-wise though, but in the terms of damage, not ROF, as I really like the way they're setting the sky on fire whenever something comes into their range.

The question now becomes: Why is there ugly blue puke in space?

Re: A celebration of Freespace
It looks like a shotgun cannon of some sort, I don't know if it's actually good at something, since I experimented with such weapons and they were difficult to use effectively and even worse to balance. Ask ED team for details.

Well as part of ED team, quite a few of us also don't like ugly blue puke in space, and, indeed this is the shotgun cannons, not really good at anything :P and I personally want them removed :D

Re: A celebration of Freespace
I just finished the second training mission of Twist of Fate, Combat Flight Training (the first is Basic Flight Training, the third is Advanced Flight Training).

"I love me some CFT!
(I love me some some CFT!)
Good for you and good for me!
(Good for you and good for me!)"

This mission sets a new record for me with a grand total of 75 events. There are so many that they don't fit in the drop-down box in is-event-true-delay.

8 missions down for Twist of Fate Chapter 1, 7 to go...

This mission's background looked rather plain to me when I played it but I couldn't figure out why. Turns out I had forgotten to add the starfield skybox. D'oh!
