Is there any way to get a light source going in subspace missions? Death black ships in a bright white-blue tunnel just look... weird.

High ambient light, subspace seems to be treated like a full nebula.

Is there also a way to use animated glow-maps to make the tunnel seem less like a piece of spinning plastic? A dynamically shifting tunnel would be quite nice (although performance draining, no doubt)

And as for the nebula thing, would that be FRED-ed or via command lines? I mean, it'd suck if you had to tweak lighting setting every time you wanted to play a subspace mission that didn't look borked.

Ambient light can be set in FRED, not only in launcher.

FRED has ambient light settings, the laucher's version is ambient factor.
