Re: A celebration of Freespace
I wouldn't assume their up for grabs until you find out who made them. Ask in diaspora to confirm that they're up for grabs.
Campaigns I've added my distinctiveness to-
- Blue Planet: Battle Captains
-Battle of Neptune
-Between the Ashes 2
-Blue planet: Age of Aquarius
-FOTG?
-Inferno R1
-Ribos: The aftermath / -Retreat from Deneb
-Sol: A History
-TBP EACW teaser
-Earth Brakiri war
-TBP Fortune Hunters (I think?)
-TBP Relic
-Trancsend (Possibly?)
-Uncharted Territory
-Vassagos Dirge
-War Machine
(Others lost to the mists of time and no discernible audit trail)

Re: A celebration of Freespace
You should probably contact the BtRL team just because they claim they're not dead. Or contact whoever originally made the asteroid.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
I know Diaspora isn't BTRL. But 90% of BTRL was staffed by current Diaspora dudes. Chances are one of them made the scar Asteroids.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
The way I see it, released assets are public and can be used however people want to.

(not the same for leaked assets of course)

Re: A celebration of Freespace
It's generally considered good form to ask the original creator of an asset (if possible) before using it in your own project, but from a practical standpoint, there's no real way to stop someone from using artwork that you've released to the general public (unless that usage involves financial gain, of course).  A certain mod-related kerfuffle a little while back involved this concept.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
It's still polite to contact the person responsible for the mod and ask permission to use it. This was said specifically with regard to BtRL assets.

With the rapid increase of FS fan-made campaigns, we're giving the GTVA a harder time with more violence and genocide.

We're referring to Retsof's post, not yours.  :)

Bloom in those BtRL screenies is way overdone. Bloom should be more subtle.

I agree. It can cause blindness.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
modified tornado, lowered damage, decreased fire wait, etc etc.

initial test was with 120 rockets on 1 bank and fire wait of 100 miliseconds. yeah.. 24 seconds. this is a rather more tweaked version, but i'm not happy. Anyone seen a ship that would lend itself well to massive amounts of missile launchers? Because that is what this lacks -.- (fired from a myrm on a nahema or nehalem, forgot which)
