Re: A celebration of FreeSpace
No, they're all running in parallel, I sort of switch between them. I really need to get back to work on Twist of Fate, Chapter 1 is halfway complete and it's by far the closest to a release.

And here's something different, story fluff! From my species.tbl:

The GTD Shima is the flagship of the 5th Fleet headquartered in Beta Aquilae, and one of the most prestigious ships in the entire Galactic Terran-Vasudan Alliance. The Shima is named after the GTVA's greatest hero, Admiral Hikari Shima, who as commanding officer of the GTD Bastion, led the taskforce that destroyed the SD Lucifer during the First Great War, and after her retirement in 2258, served on the GTVA General Assembly until her death in 2271. As the heirs to the legacy of Admiral Shima and the GTD Bastion, the crew of the GTD Shima are some of the finest and most dedicated personnel in the Alliance.

The Shima was one of the first of the new Titan-class destroyers, the most heavily-armed destroyers currently serving the GTVA. With a total of 17 beam cannons, the Shima's firepower rivals that of a Ravana-class destroyer. She holds 13 full squadrons of fighters with a total of 156 fighters and bombers, an increase of 12 over the smaller Hecate-calss destroyers. Before the Reunification War, the Shima served with distinction in several peacetime anti-piracy operations, and is now spearheading the war to retake Sol.

(yeah, that's right, you blew up the Lucifer and Admiral Shima on the Bastion got all the credit. What are you going to do about it? :P)

I don't think the Sarynthon's released. (unless it is?) That looks like a Nemesis and an Archangel.

The player's home fleet, the GTVA 5th Fleet, mustered in Beta Aquilae, led by the player's home ship, the GTD Shima:

There are numerous ships following behind but I think you might be looking at two of the Agamemnon-class corvettes, which use the Chimera model ("Chimera" was taken by a Shivan stealth fighter).

:eek2: That's a BIG escort list...

SRD = Solar Republic Destroyer. Don't pay too much attention to those ship names, it's just a test mission where I kept changing around the ships.

Those ships would normally be scattered around the system doing various different things. This isn't really much bigger than the Blue Planet: Age of Aquarius battlegroup, is it?

Bear in mind that the escort list is normally restricted to 5 in FS2_Open. In retail, it's a measly 3.

Can be changed to more, or less, by editing a hud gauges table. It's in the mediavps, IIRC. Otherwise, you can just make a modular table and change the value.

Probably just perspective playing fun with me. But I was mostly looking at the ship that is apparently a military station by TrashMan.
