Some combat around a terrain model and a red skybox.

Gravity, more new sounds and music, interplanetary combat, gun installations, gunpoint HUD indicators...
 :jaw:

The alarm sound though, really grinds into my ears.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
I should have put a note: this is very unofficial! Just something I was playing around with. But stuff like the gunpoint hud indicators will be in the mod when the sequel gets released.

Sans the missile launch tone, if everything else was included that would be uber wicked awesome.
But the gun indicators alone are awsmsauce.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
That's not bad, aside from the terrible texturing on every single building. I did notice a base from Stratcomm's model dump, neat.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
If you don't like the texturing, make your own buildings.
Community would cetrainly appreciate such models, since currently, there are not many of them.

Aside from the vid description, notice the falling debris.

Yes, the fire trails from destroyed fighters arced, pretty easy to notice really.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
More community-made buildings would be great. Be nice to get some proper models out there instead of half-assed stuff I scrabbled together.

can you crash on the ground or flythrougth?

I have a skybox + ground but if i get to low i fly through :(

Most of the terrain is solid, but places where it's not have a large invisible cube just at terrain level. It works well enough.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Nice. I like the building textures myself for the most part. Only have minor issues with the one that's tiled with lightings on the roof, but that's a small portion of the overall greatness.

So Violence is bsgreplacement-secondhalf? Nice. :)

That looks awesome. Do fighters now have lift, such that banking becomes important?

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Nope. And in fact for the moment gravity only works on dead and (if we get a feature added) dying ships.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
So you're postulating repulsolift type technology in FS? Admittedlym that makes sense given what (little) we've seen of atmospheric flight.

That's not a canonical piece of the story yet, but yeah, if necessary we'll do that. It seems pretty reasonable.
