I hated the **** out of that mission. It was a miracle I passed it on the first run. :doubt:

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Strange, I've had no problems with it. If you aim carefully and remember your guns are just a bit to the bottom, you shouldn't have any problems with it.
Maybe it's because I have a joystick and I'm quite good with it.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
After a certain point it's only you doing all the work, and joystick or not, they have Touhou hitboxes seeing as I literally watched shots roll along the sides.
Nothing like FS bombs where you can miss to an extent and still land a hit.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
That's because they're actually ships, or at least the game thinks so. They're perfectly manageable if you have a steady aim, some intuition and a good joystick. You don't need AI help either. As for hitboxes, they're consistent with the actual model, unlike the "real" torpedoes, where collision detection is done using radius. Notice that you can hear "crack" as you hit them, the impact sound played for weapon-weapon collisions belongs to the impacted weapon.

Resorting to reusing pictures posted elsewhere. (Not really this one has textures reflective of the released version)

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Looks like that gauss round comes from one of the two the lower, forward multi-part turrets to me. In BP that place is taken up by a gattler though.

They already are, because their small ships look better and their warships look almost like that.

I like those fighters. Also, is that Karuna modified? I see the guns are arranged differently. Also, did you fix the stern greebles?

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Err, wut ? It's exactly the Karuna we have in latest WiH. At least from what can be seen in the pic.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Nope. Take a closer look on the cannons on the front. They are more widely spaced than on WiH's Karuna.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
I just did take a very close look, comparing the picture with the model loaded up and FRED and it looks exactly the same, except for the turrets pointing forward instead of up and down.

The angle is a bit deceptive, because what looks like the lower guns are actually the two port-side (left) guns, which also hide the actual lower guns from sight.

They're... not ? You might want to buy some glasses, mate.

The cannons look a tad longer though, but I blame FS's low FoV for that one.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Heck, you're right. I really need to wake up.  :)
It's all work of the tricky angle the picture was taken and different FOV that made cannons seem longer.

Can I wish the UEF has Astrogators, Skjoldrs and the Impervious-class?
