Tiny Weapon Loadout Pictures
Are the weapon loadout pictures supposed to be tiny? All the default weapon types look fine, but custom ones look really funky and have a blue border around them.

Re: Tiny Weapon Loadout Pictures
Those aren't the icons, FSO uses weapon models for weapon selection if no icons are found or if the 'use 3D models for weapon selection flag is ticked.

Re: Tiny Weapon Loadout Pictures
Something does need to be done about these though (three of the missiles look like they use the same model!) Either normal-looking icons should be made or the parameters for the 3d rendering ($Zoom like in ship tbl?) need to be retooled so the icon actually takes up the available space.

Re: Tiny Weapon Loadout Pictures
Couldn't the old FS1 weapon icons also be used in a pinch?

"In a pinch" the weapon models work fine.

<MageKing17> "There's probably a reason the code is the way it is" is a very dangerous line of thought. :P
<MageKing17> Because the "reason" often turns out to be "nobody noticed it was wrong".
(the very next day)
<MageKing17> this ****ing code did it to me again
<MageKing17> "That doesn't really make sense to me, but I'll assume it was being done for a reason."

<MageKing17> God damn, I do not understand how this is breaking.
<MageKing17> Everything points to "this should work fine", and yet it's clearly not working.
<MjnMixael> 2 hours later... "God damn, how did this ever work at all?!"
(...)
<MageKing17> so
<MageKing17> more than two hours
<MageKing17> but once again we have reached the inevitable conclusion
<MageKing17> How did this code ever work in the first place!?

<@The_E> Welcome to OpenGL, where standards compliance is optional, and error reporting inconsistent

<MageKing17> It was all working perfectly until I actually tried it on an actual mission.

<IronWorks> I am useful for FSO stuff again. This is a red-letter day!

<MageKing17> TIL the entire homing code is held up by shoestrings and duct tape, basically.

Re: Tiny Weapon Loadout Pictures
Well, work technically speaking, but functionally they're not very good at letting me know what weapon is equipped, especially with the missiles.

While BP was undergoing testing, I complained about the icon sizes and went investigating a way to increase their size, unfortunately those zoom options seem to affect the large, rotating image on the right of the loadout screen and not the 'icons' (it was also broken so Dahblount had to fix it) so as far as I know there's no ability to zoom in on the models used as icons or rotate them either.

From what I saw, those are actually supposed to work on the icons as well but, as you said, they don't.
