Dear Lobo,

I've just followed the instructions on installing fs in linux. I have copied the freespace2 folder from a windows machine. I have got the latest nightly build (linux). How do I run freespace now!! Is there a launcher for linux?

Help me im desperate to play!!

I don't know much about Linux (as demonstrated by the level of jargon in the Linux/Mac installation thread). But I suppose FSO starts if you run the latest build you've downloaded. There is no Launcher for Linux, so you'll need to use any command-line options manually. I assume that if the build appears as an icon somewhere, you just right-click it and in the opening windows you should see a field that has the path to the field, like \apps\freespace2\fs2_open_3_6_10r... . Add the command-line options after it, with each flag beginning with a "-" and having the flags separated with spaces.

..and if icons won't cut it, just open a terminal window and cd to the folder where fs2_open_r is located.
Then do a: ./fs2_open_r

If you get it to run then start to experiment with the command line options..
