You know... I never got beamed.  I feel all left out :(
Or maybe because I'm so old, I can't be considered a noob at anything?  HA.

Seriously, it's funny (not ha-ha) how many times I've had to use this fix in various mods and/or campaigns.  I'd guess that making a new pilot or cloning one for a new mod/campaign would be a 'best practice,' eh?  The up-side is that I've quickly re-learned the FREDDing basics that I forgot so long ago... time to start making a [craptastic] campaign again...

Senor Cambell, I'd advise you to be more considerate about 'dem beams. This is excactly what has been discussed before. Don't overuse them.

There are two options for the amount of welcome beams: zero or one. Zero if it is obvious that the new guy doesnät want the damn thing, one otherwise. Like with exclamation marks. One is quite enough. It's annoying if there are many of them side by side.

It's true that in this case the welcoming was delayed fom some time, but I don't believe that to be an excuse to throw in several beams.

Show constraint and use your judgement.

Well, given the circumstances, I think it was justified. :)

So all of this comes down to opinions and the general atmosphere in individual cases? Fine with me.

Of course there is no right or wrong opinion, but I think that one beam per welcoming is quite enough. Back when I registered to express my problems regarding FS2 main campaign with LS nebulae, I too had to ask for the beam. Soon after, jr2 welcomed me, with one beam, and I couldn't have asked for more. I was just glad to be on the team.

The whole beam issue just keeps bringing a quote from Mr. Burns in The Simpsons to my mind.
"In the past 10 years you've caused 17 meltdowns. ONE is too many!"

But I'll shut up for now. If Goober says something, it is from that point on known as the law of the forum.

And pardon me for straying from the topic.

and its 616, anyone who tells you the number of the beast is 666 obviously hasnt a clue about ancient numbering systems.

hail satan!

And even then, the 616 was thought to be a code for a Roman Emperor, not for Satan as originally believed.

666 is the number of the Great Beast, not Satan but a servant of him :p.

Once again, it's all a matter of perspective, Nero was hardly a favourite of the Christians, and wasn't exactly loved by the Romans, but he was also a paranoid schizophrenic with a 'Christ Complex' (though that sounds horribly inaccurate given the circumstances). Basically, he was the end result of corruption that had been spreading through the Roman Empire for a long time, so Nero wasn't really the 'Great Beast', strictly speaking it was the situation that led to Nero being Caeser that was dangerous. There was religious and political persecution, bribery, 'jobs for friends' etc, it was all pretty much a mess before Nero ever appeared on the scene.
